A.N.: I just made something… unexpected. Something fluff, something ew. It’s not romantically mushy, but it’s hideous, and it’s mine… What else can I do?

~ Ron x Indigo OS ~

The chaos at the Weasleys' was always a classic, but it seemed beyond amplified on that 31st of December, when, for the very first time, the parents of all the young adults in the house were leaving for a couple of days to celebrate New Year's Eve in peace, leaving the seven marauders unsupervised.

The cold Morning had woken Indigo up, shooting a ray of sun right on their eyelids while they began to perceive all the voices coming from the rest of the house. They looked around the room just to see Harry’s bed in perfect order, while Ron was still scruffily laying on his.

Indigo looked at the clock on the wall and goggled as they realized it was already 10.30 in the morning. They shook themselves up, took their clothes and ran to the bathroom to get changed, then they headed to the kitchen.

People were going in and out of the house, carrying luggages and bags with them. The kitchen table was surrounded by Indigo’s friends, so they sloppily took their place next to George.

“Oy, you woke up!” The tall ginger said while chewing a bagel. Indigo nodded in response, still too tired to say unnecessary words to anyone. “Our mum wanted to leave after lunch, but Sirius and James couldn’t wait to get out of here, so they might be leaving in about an hour and a half…”

“Which means we have more time to plan what to do tonight. Isn’t it grand news?” Continued Fred, who was sitting at the end of the table as Ginny and Raven nodded in agreement.

“Dom, did you wake Ronald up?” Hermione asked, taking the last sip of her coffee.

“Should’ve I?”

“Of course! He was the first one to go to sleep yesterday, he should’ve been here ages ago.” Indigo lowered their head while the thought of the night before flashed back into their brain.

Let’s prove them wrong.”;

“I’ll go wake him, then.” They said, getting up and saying hi to Arthur and Molly, who were taking the last luggages out of the house.

Indigo slowly started going up the stairs, but couldn’t stop thinking about the night before. They were extremely confused and, to be fair, they still weren’t completely positive that it hadn’t been a very vivid dream.

“I think I’ll head to bed too, then. Unless you need company.” Freddie had said, his tired eyes looking at the fireplace. Indigo had shook their head.

“I’ll be alright, thanks though. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.” The boy got up from the sofa, leaving Indigo all alone in there, the only light being the dying fire in front of them. They snuggled under the blanket, their eyes pointed at nothing in particular.

They had been wondering for a while now if them finding out they fancied Ron was going to mess everything up. It was the first time they felt like this for a man: the thought of their feelings being just a clever way for their brain not to get too bored never actually went through their mind when they realized what they were feeling for the redhead wasn’t just platonic.

It must’ve been something quite serious. But Indigo really hadn’t had the time to process it, since the realization came to them just a few weeks before Christmas break. They didn’t even tell Raven nor Remus about it, which was rather odd since they shared everything with them.

Indigo was so caught up on their own thought they didn’t even notice the wooden staircase behind them emitting some feeble creaks as someone tried to climb down as quietly as they could.

“There you are.” A drowsy voice coming from behind Indigo’s head made them jump a little.

“I thought you were already in your REM phase, Pumpkin.”

“I was, until Fred decided to wake me just to wish me a good night. He had never, not once, woke me up to do so. I don’t know what’s gotten into him. Anyway, I noticed your bed was empty and, since my brother is usually the last one going to bed, I wanted to check up on you. Everything alright?” Ron was now standing in front of them, his eyes barely open and his hair messily framing his pale face.

“Peachy. Just not in the mood to sleep I guess.” Indigo responded lazily as they tried hard not to look at their best friend.

“Fancy some company?” Indigo pointed at the seat next to them and the redhead didn’t hesitate to take it, immediately resting his head on his best friend’s shoulder as he so often did when they hung out together.

“Sure you're alright, Bambi?” They nodded placidly, taking their best friend's hand in theirs, while he put his other arm around them, leaving their back a little detached from the couch.

“Oh, Merlin. I just realized- Nothing.” Pumpkin said after a while.

“Now you have to say it, you know how it works with me.” They both chuckled. Ron scoffed, his grin still placidly decking his face out.

“Fred woke me up, right?” Indigo nodded, still looking at the fireplace as Pumpkin didn’t move his head from their best friend's shoulder. “I believe it's because he wanted us to have some alone time together.” Ronald shook his head, chuckling lightly.

“What do you mean?”

“See, him and George had been bugging me for a while now with the fact you and I 'act like a couple'.” He said, waving his hand while still keeping Bambi's in his.

“They are?” Indigo stiffened, knowing fully well the twins had done the same thing with them plenty of times. Ron nodded, looking up at Bambi just to meet their concerned face.

“Something on your mind?” He asked, leaving Indigo’s hand cold, just to complete the mid-circle his other arm had created around them.

“Nothing. They bugged me too about it though.” They finally said as Pumpkin sighed, while shaking his head. Then, he fixed himself up on the couch and stole a bit of Indigo’s blanket.

“They told me they won’t shut up about it until I prove to them there’s no ‘sparkle’.” Said Bambi.

“How do you even do that?” Ronald chuckled lightly. A few seconds of silence followed, but clearly Indigo hadn't spent them on pondering what to say next, as they found themselves spitting out what came to their mind in just a fraction of second.

“People usually kiss to prove that.” They froze immediately after that, desperately trying to hide it from Ron, who slightly turned around to look at Indigo with the corner of his eye.

“They do?” He smirked. “You think we should try it out?” He continued jokingly, nuance Bambi fortunately grasped on immediately.

“Well, maybe. Just to prove them wrong.” They said with the same exact tone of playful mockery. Ron turned around to face their best friend, a lazy smirk was painting itself on his face as his eyes stopped on Indigo’s lips. Bambi was now facing him as well, doing the same exact thing Weasley was doing.

“Well, it makes sense, if you think about it.” The redhead let out almost in a whisper, not a trace of that playful nuance in his words anymore.

“Oh, shut up.” They whispered as well in response.

“What? Are you scared to prove them right instead?” Ron teased, not even imagining how Indigo had been in a whirlwind of emotions because of him for who knows how long now.

“Don’t flatter yourself, Pumpkin.” They paused.

“Let’s prove them wrong.”
