"This is the least revealing thing you have?" Clary asked Izzy as she stared at her own reflection. Izzy walked behind her. "What? All the naughty bits are covered. A little too much in my opinion." She crossed her arms. "Where's Simon?" Wait Simon's here? "Who?" She chuckled. " Kidding. He's in good hands with the boys." She walked away and sat on her bed.
"So um... You, Alec, and Jace are... what, like, family?" She stood in front of Izzy. "Really subtle big sis." I snort. "Translation, you want to know if Jace and I are a thing." Izzy tilted her head with an amused smile. "Why would I care?" Clary shook her head. "Because you do. Don't worry. In every way, he's like my brother. Our parents took Jace in when he was ten. We trained together. Learned to fight side by side."
"A few days ago, all I had to worry about was getting into art school. And now..." She sighed. "Is this the part where I give you the pep talk about harnessing your inner Shadowhunter and accepting your true destiny?" Izzy interrupted. "Was that the pep talk?" Izzy shrugged. "Basically." She stood up and moved a hair out of Clary's face.
"Clary. Remember, you were born to do this. No matter what has happened... This is who you are." Clary tilted her head with a face. "Not exactly feeling that." "Yet." Izzy retorted with a smile. "Okay, but now we just have to find Dot." Clary clasped her hands together and sighed. "And track down and kill the most dangerous rogue Shadowhunter in history before he kills us all." Izzy nodded. "You really know how to ruin a pep talk, don't you?" I groan. "Let's go." I whine.
"Oh and... Simon is kind of nerd hot." Izzy chuckled before leaving. "Ewww." I made a face as I followed her.

I walk around the room as Clary and Simon whispered to each other. Izzy walked in and pressed something on the wall. My eyes lit up us a shelf with weapons came out. I walked over and touched one of the swords. Jace slapped my hand away. "Dude." I scrunched my face up and backed away. "Fifty bucks says that he doesn't approve of this mission." She ran her hand over a sword. "I don't approve of this mission. I spoke with the Clave. They're sending Seelie scouts to search for Valentine, but they made it clear that the little girls don't leave the premises."
I scoffed. "Rude." "Hey, my name is not 'little girl', okay? I don't care what that Clave thing or you want, I'm going to find Dot." I sigh. Why? Just why am I in this mess? "Alec, this warlock could have all the answers we need. With Valentine's people out there searching for Clary, she's not safe outside alone." Jace crossed his arms.
"Why don't we just- I don't know stay here and wait for that Clave thing to fix this? I mean you said it's dangerous out there." Alec raised his hands. "Finally." Clary turned to me. "What about mom?" I rub my face. "Valentine won't kill her because she's the only one who knows where that cup thing is. Besides I don't think she'd want us to die looking for her." Alec looked at everyone else with a face. "Yes. Listen to the other sensible person here."
"You're right. But Jace also has a point." I groan as soon as Izzy said that. "Et tu, Izzy? Alright, since you have all the answers, where do you suggest we search?" Alec asked Clary. "We should start at Dot's apartment in Greenpoint, and there's this thrift store that she..." She suddenly gasped. I furrowed my eyebrows. "Hey. You okay? You're not going to like- go crazy or something right?" I place my hand on her shoulder.
"What's wrong?" Jace asked as Clary snapped out of it. "I um... Weirdly, I think I know where Dot is." Simon pulled out his keys. "Great, I'll drive. What? Unless you have, like, a Shadowhunter mobile or something." Izzy chuckled. Simon looked down. "You were kidding about the runes on the floor killing me... right?" I snort. "Possibly." Jace patted his neck before walking away. I snatched Simon's keys. "I'm driving."

"You have a license right?" Alec asked as I strapped my seatbelt on. "I don't." I turned on the engine and drove off. "Slow down." Simon tapped my chair. "What do you mean slow down?" Jace asked. "It'll take us years if she slows down." Alec rolled his eyes. "Yeah but the speed limit-" "I'll pay if we get a ticket Simon." I rolled my eyes. "Where do you even get the money you spend?" I shrugged. "Rich ex-boyfriends." I stepped on the gas.

Why does she walk so fast? I fastened my pace to catch up with the others. When I turned the corner I saw them running after Clary. I sigh. Sure let's leave a seventeen year old girl all alone in some creepy alley. I start running after them.
