WARNING/DISCLAIMER: I do not own Vampire Diaries or Teen Wolf, I'm just using their characters and bits and pieces of those stories to tell mine. I won't be following "canon" on either show. Whatever parts of each show that I do use most likely won't be in the sequence they were in, in the original material.

It'll be good though. Promise ;)

Enjoy, lovelies <3

Chapter 1

Caroline Forbes leaned against her dark blue Aston Martin, deep in the woods of Beacon Hills, California. The very first impulse purchase by a girl who used to live on a single-parent income but suddenly found herself a multi-millionaire.

She kept a close eye on the moving boys transferring her boxes from the family company van overflowing with her possessions and other miscellaneous things.

The boys carefully removed and settled the boxes in the grand foyer of her new home. Exactly how Caroline had stressed to them. Teenage boys were not exactly known for being careful with... anything.

Their presence was a glaring sign of Caroline's growing comfort with her newfound wealth - or sheer laziness - depending on when you ask her. And yet, the thought of loading and offloading those boxes seemed as appealing as a conversation with Elena Gilbert or Bonnie Bennett at that moment. Comfortability sounded better to Caroline - with her wealth and in life. If nothing else, she's always excelled at mentally arranging her reality to fit her narrative.

Soon the last box was tucked away in the manor, and the seemingly eldest of the crew approached Caroline.

"Everything how you want it, Miss?"

"Yup, everything's perfect!" Caroline rummaged through the bag on her shoulder and handed them the cash she'd set aside as their tip.

They each sent her a blinding grin, then took off around the fountain on the expansive front lawn to their van, their thanks floating back to her.

She'd already compelled them and made each of them forget how to get to her place - not that it would be easy to find anyway. Not unless they knew the exact road that led straight to the house. Hence the compulsion. And while Caroline wasn't technically in hiding, she would prefer no one know of her exact location for as long as possible.

Well, didn't take long for that little hope to get thwarted, she thought, when the feeling of being watched suddenly washed over her. The hair on her forearms stood up, and the veins under her eyes rippled in warning; the vampire equivalent of hackles rising.

As she strolled towards the cavernous entrance that had been left blown wide open by the boys, Caroline debated confronting her visitor.

She immediately scrapped the thought.

No need to let them know she was aware of them yet. She would bide her time and see what they wanted. In the meantime, she'd learn what she could about her unwanted visitor.

Caroline subtly took in a deep inhale and sent out her other senses.

The slight rustling of leaves when they moved to adjust their footing reached Caroline. As did their deliberately slowed heartbeat and shallow breathing. The sound of blood quickly rushing through their veins eliminated the possibility of them being a vampire.

Caroline counted her blessings.

The very last thing she wanted to deal with at that moment was a vampire. Hostile or not.

A tell-tale itch started in her throat, and Caroline sighed. It had been a long day. She needed to feed, take a hot shower and disappear into the undoubtedly cloud-like bed waiting for her in her new home.
