Until We meet again

It's sunday,Meera is going to kolkata for her admission in bidhannagar college. She is travelling alone. It's 12:30 pm Meera starts boarding for her flight. She gets inside her flight takes her seat. She had already chosen a window seat for her. She was a bit nervous because she was travelling alone for the first time. Also she was excited because she knew that she is not only going for admission but she is also going to have a lot of fun there. She turned on her Bluetooth and connected her headphone with her phone and she started listening to her favorite song.
                 Soon, after a couple of minutes a middle aged man comes and sits beside her. Meera looks at him and finds out that it's her ex boyfriend Rajveer. She didn't know how to react , she became silent. She was pretty sure that Rajveer didn't recognise her afterall they met after six years. Rajveer was fourteen years older than Meera and now he looked more mature as he was thirty four years now. Meera was a chubby girl when she was in relationship with Rajveer but now she has a model figure as she does modelling in her free time. Rajveer didn't recognise Meera but Meera was very sure that it's Rajveer. She got out of her deep thinking when the flight took off.
       She finally gathered some courage and said, "hi". Rajveer looked at her. Then she said, "did you recognise me?" . Before Rajveer could say anything she said, "I'm Meera". Rajveer was so surprised to see her. He said, "wow we met after a long time". " Yeah", Meera said. They had a small talk about where are they going and what were they doing from the past six years. Meera asked Rajveer , " Which hotel are you staying in". " Hotel nirvana in Newtown " ,Rajveer said. Meers took a pause and said " Wow we are staying in the same hotel what a coincidence ". Rajveer was surprised and he giggled. The next few minutes they stayed silent. Meera broke the silence and asked rajveer, " We are going to the same hotel so would mind if we go by the same cab? , actually I'm travelling alone for the first time so I'm a bit nervous. " Rajveer agreed to her and said, "sure why not".
                                       They got out of airport and booked a cab...
Meera and Rajveer both didn't speak out a single word inside the cab.
Soon they reached their destination.
They went inside the hotel and checked in.
Before going to their rooms. They both smiled at each other but neither of them could utter a single word..
Meera went inside her room and she broke down in tears... It was really obvious for Meera to cry as their relationship didn't end in a good note. Meera was recollecting all memories of her and Rajveer.
On the other hand Rajveer was really happy to see Meera after so long.
Though he was the one who ended the relationship but he never really wanted to hurt Meera. His intentions were never wrong. But nobody knew the reason behind their breakup except Rajveer.
Rajveer was sitting on his couch thinking about how the time has changed. The sweet Meera that he knew is now a mature grown up girl.
And they both got lost in each others thoughts...
3 days passed...
They both were so busy in their own work that they both didn't get time to see each other.
It was Meera's last day in Kolkata.
Her admission was successful.
Before leaving Kolkata she wanted to spend some time with Rajveer because she was still seeking an answer of a particular question. What was the reason behind their breakup? Will Meera ever find the reason?
So many thoughts were running inside Meera's head.. She wanted a clarification about everything.
So in the morning she went outside Rajveer's room and knocked the door.
Rajveer opened the door and he was shocked to see Meera... Before he could say anything. Meera asked him if he wants to go for breakfast.
Rajveer said, ya I'm coming.
They both sat in the corner table of the hall.
Meera broke the silence by saying it's my last day here.
Rajveer asked is your admission done?
Meera said, "yes"!
After a pause
Rajveer said , oh.
They stayed silent for the next couple of minutes.
Meera again broke the silence by saying i don't know if we'll ever meet again.. But now that i have met you i want to ask one thing can i?
Rajveer nodded without looking into Meera's eyes. Maybe he already knew what was coming in his way.
Meera took a Pause and asked what was the reason?
Rajveer said, what? Pretending to not understand anything but deep down he knew what Meera was talking about.
Meera said, was it that easy?
Rajveer said, what are you talking about?
Meera said, oh so you really don't get it..
They again stayed silent for the next few minutes.
Rajveer finally gathered some courage and said, i wish i could tell you.. But i don't think that dragging the past is going to be beneficial for any of us.. So just leave it. Now you're happy in your life. So am i. Let's move on from that topic it's been a long while.
Hearing these words Meera realised that everything has changed... It's really over between both of them.. Meera couldn't control herself anymore. Before she could say anything she broke down in tears and went into her room without wasting a moment. Rajveer kept sitting there. He was wondering that intentionally he has hurted Meera so much. He was feeling guilty. Maybe after their breakup it was the first time that he was actually feeling guilty and he had tears in his eyes.
Meera's flight was delayed for 2 hrs and it was scheduled at 2 pm
Meera was packing her bags as she wanted to leave the hotel as soon as possible.
Soon Meera heard a gentle knock in her room's door. Somewhere Meera's gut feeling was telling her that it's Rajveer but she didn't wanted to open the door because she knew that her feelings for Rajveer hasn't changed and she didn't wanted to get involved with him again.
Rajveer spoke lightly, Meera, please open the door i need to talk to you.
Hearing this Meera straight up went to the door and opened it as if Rajveer voice acted as a magic spell on her.
Meera still had tears in her eyes.
Rajveer felt very guilty and said, I'm sorry! He couldn't say anything but he wanted to say a lot of things to her so he gave her a note and left. Meera stood still for some while.
After few minutes Meera packed her bags and left for the airport. Her eyes were searching for Rajveer for one last time. But she didn't find him anywhere. She boarded in her flight and after some time she opened the letter that Rajveer has given her. And the letter said-
Meera,
First of all I'm really sorry for whatever i did. I didn't know that it would affect you this way. I never really wanted to hurt you. I still don't want you to get hurt. I really feel bad when i see tears in your eyes. But that time it was necessary for me to take that step. If you think that i never loved you. You're wrong. I genuinely felt for you. I don't know if i still do. But the situation never allowed us to be happily together. But now that it has ended i want to give it a positive closure and i believe that whatever happens, happens for good. You're an amazing human being and you've actually given me the best memories. I want you to shine in life. And I'll cherish our memories forever. And i hope you'll remember me until we meet again.

Meera didn't know how to react after reading this letter. She had tears in her eyes but at the same time she was smiling too. She now knew that it was not Rajveer but the situation which had put them apart. She was still unknown to the reason behind everything. But as we all know some things are better left unknown. Because she got another reason to remember Rajveer. It was not a happily ever after for both of them but Rajveer's words- "until we meet again" Will give Meera a hope that they'll meet again and that time Meera will definitely get the answer she's seeking for.....
