Chapter 2 (she's mine)

I woke up to the sound of a groan. Opening my eyes I was met with the sight of a man in my bed. Startled,I immediately sat up and the memories of last night came back rushing to me. I dramatically place my hands on my chest and muttered "what a relief."

I raised my head up and was met with a deep shade of green eyes staring at him. I blushed in embarrassment.
"How is your wound,mister?" When he tried to sit up I immediately rushed to him,scolding him.
"If you try to sit up like that your wound and the stitches will open. I spent almost one hour trying to stitch it up." I said complaining and feeling quite proud of myself.
The man looked baffled at me scolding him as if he had never been scolded before.
"Who are you and what am I doing here?" He asked.
I gasped internally. His voice was deep,alluring,sexy and smooth.
"I saw you in the alleyway. You were bleeding and unconscious which was why I had to drag you here,besides you weigh a tone." I said complaining.
"So how is your wound now? Are you feeling uncomfortable or in pain?"
He did not answer but kept looking at me as if in a trance.
Feeling shy under his gaze,I gently waved at his face and he smirked slightly.
"What's your name baby girl?" He asked.
"Elaine. What's yours?" I asked shyly.
"Landon,baby girl."
Still feeling his gaze,I spoke up. "Let me try if I can make some soup for you. You will need it and can you try to take your bath yourself?"

I rushed out of the room to the kitchen to prepare soup for Landon. Silently cursing myself for acting like a teenage girl seeing her crush for the first time. Opening the cupboard,it was literally empty. I sighed sadly.
Barely managing to find soup ingredients.I started preparing it. I was a great cook. I knew that because my mom was one. Tears were starting to gather around my eyes and I wiped it furiously so as not to become a crying mess especially with a visitor who was in my room.

After I finished preparing it,I took it to him. He was lying on the bed as if it was owned by him. I wondered how someone could look that majestic without having to try. After he finished eating,I retrieved the plate from him and place it on the bedside table.
"Can you lift your shirt up,please?" I said.
He lifted it up. Blushing silently I checked the the wound and changed the the bandage.
"You should be able to work around. The bullet did not hit deep." I told him. He nodded his head and asked. "Why were you crying?"
I was shocked shitless. "How did you know I was crying?"
He did not give me any reply and waited for me to give an explanation. I then knew that he was a man of small words. "Nothing,something flew inside my eyes."
He looked at me as though he knew I was telling lie but he did not question me further. I wondered how he knew I was lying.
I stood up suddenly as if I remembered something. "Can you be on your own for a while, I want to go and get you a shirt and trousers from a nearby store. You need to change your clothes.
"Don't worry about that,I already sent someone to get that for me.
"Wow. When did you do that and how did you know the area you are in?"
He did not answer.
"Okay." I said and sat on the couch looking up at the ceiling.

A knock sounded on the door and I went to get it thinking it was the person that came with the clothes. Opening the door I was faced with my neighbor ,Jake,who behaved like a creep,always watching me.
"What can I do for you?" I said ,smiling sweetly.
"I just wanted to check on you and know if you will you go on a date with me?" He said smiling as if he was tranced.
I was just about to answer when a hand snaked across my waist,pulling me gently into a hard-rocked chest. Shivers ran down my body making me shake slightly.
"My fiancé is not going out with you."
Jake looked slightly annoyed, his smile fading away quickly.
"Elaine,you did not tell me your were already engaged."
I opened my mouth to answer when Landon squeezed my waist slightly. I shut up instantly.
"You already know,now get out."
Jake eyed me as if promising to be back and left,annoyed. Closing the door, Landon pushed me gently against the door and placed his head at the crook of my neck. "I haven't known you for a day yet you are already making me go crazy. What are you doing to me." I blushed furiously and said. "I swear I did nothing to you.I only helped you fix your wound and prepared soup for you."

He laughed suddenly making me swoon. I could listen to it all day. "So innocent." He said.
His laughed suddenly faded and his face went hard making me slightly nervous. "Who is he?" He asked.
I looked up at him. He was so tall,me being 5'4,I felt intimidated once more. "His name is Jake. He is my neighbor who looks at me like a creep." I answered not knowing why I was explaining myself.
"I don't want you talking with him and if he disturbs you let me know." He said.
"Okay." I replied him.

Immediately a knock sounded at the door making me jump into his arm. He wrapped his arms around me and opened the door.
"Boss, I brought what you ordered." A man said looking at his boss hands on my waist like an alien. His looks could tell he was shocked.
"Good. Wait for me outside. I will be with you shortly." He closed the door after that.
"Baby girl,I will come back for you. I have somewhere I have to be now. He said.
I felt sad hearing that because he was beginning to grow on me but nodded my head understanding he might be a busy man.

"Give me your phone." He said. I handed the phone to him and he typed in his number.
"Call me if you need anything or if anything happens,okay."
"Okay."
He left to change to his clothes and came back almost immediately. I followed him outside to his car. It was a black sleek Lamborghini. Before he entered he kissed my forehead for a few seconds and slide in,his driver looking shocked again.I waved and went inside sighing loudly.
