I ducked, pulling Han with me. She gasped and skimmed down the tree like lightning, bringing her axe. I don't know how she does it. She reached the bottom, and the girl who shot the arrow began to run to Han and poise her arrow straight to Han's heart. Before she got the chance, Han stabbed her with her axe. She fell to her knees, and groaned. Han came back up before anyone could spot us.

"She deserved it," Han announced, panting. I held onto her tight, squeezing the air out of her. It was so easy for either of us to get killed. I began to cry. Quiet, shaky sobs. Han put her arms around me and hugged me. She leant onto me and kissed my head.

"It's okay."

A drone came and we watched the body go up. Her body was on the mat, arms and legs falling over the sides, with barely any blood, except from her chest. Where the axe went. It faded into darkness. We made it the first night. Only who knows how many left.

The Capitol anthem sounded, loud and annoying, telling us how many of us died. I wonder how the Capitol does this so mindlessly, with no emotion, at all. 10 dead. 14 more to die. She had killed the District 8 girl. Also, Han's partner, Lake, was killed. Han just blinked and lay down. I thought about River, how he was doing, how he managed to stay alive. I got in the sleeping bag and Han stayed on guard that night. I would take it the next night.

It took a long to time to get to sleep. I was just so scared that someone would come, kill me, hurt Han or a natural disaster. Or rather a Capitol made disaster.

I drifted off to a nightmare filled sleep, after what felt like hours.

In the middle of the night, Han shook me, there was movement below. I quietly sat up. She got down quietly.

"Well, there is 15 people left. Rest in peace Glimmer and Rae, just kidding." They laughed, whoever it was. Probably the Careers, hence the cruel laughter. Han was silently grabbing her axe, then let go, right above their heads.

They looked up, too late. The first boy got an axe through his head. The other boy ran, but was injured by the other boy falling on his leg. There was screams, and one girl shot a knife in Han's direction.

I heard a scream.

HAN! My mind ran through what I would do if she was dead. I would be dead meat. No, it was too far away. And a boy's scream. The one with the axe in the head. He was dead. 2 cannons.

And there was 13. 13 to kill us, or for us to defeat.

If I did the math, we had:

1 person from District 1

Both from 2 and 3

1 from 4

None from 5

Both from 6

Han from 7

Both from 8 and 9

1 from 10

1 from 11

Me and River from 12.

9 dead.
