"Don't smile on me... light on me..."

My alarm. Thank god, it was all just a dream. What a weird dream...
I grinned, immersed into the beautiful tune of my favourite song, before slowly opening my eyes to see... fuck. I'm not at home.

I could feel myself on a softer, fluffier surface. Probably a sofa or something. The quiet sound of pattering of footsteps approached me in a syncopated rhythm, accompanying the voices of the two guys from earlier.

"—wake yet. We could throw her in with the others."

"Was the dosage strong enough?"

"Yeah, but there's backup in the sack. It's at the back of the van."

Now that I can move, I should probably get out of here. I need to leave. Now.

I cranked my neck slightly, just enough to see over my toes. Shit. They're headed straight for me.

My eyes shut tight as I tried to look unconscious, trying to slow my breathing to a normal pace, trying to relax my face muscles like the people in yoga videos usually say. Funny how I can remember what happens in yoga videos but not what happened in my life.

They kept talking, but I couldn't process or understand the rest of what they said. The sound of my heartbeat drumming in my ears drowned out my comprehension, converting their dialogue into a muffled alien language. There was no longer music in the background, yet I didn't know when it was switched off, just that there was nothing left to calm my nerves.

Then came the hands, a pair reaching under my arms whilst another tried to lift my legs...

Adrenaline courses through my veins and I was no longer paralysed by the fear of these strangers or, from what I've understood, kidnappers. My eyes shot open and I struck one of them upside the chin with my foot before getting up and twisting round to deal with the guy behind me. I shoved his chest, but he grabbed my wrists with a strong, muscular grip. The guy I kicked wrapped his hands around my mouth.

The one holding my wrists stared at me, revealing his deep voice:

"Oh shit."
