The Kings Mate

Staring right back in the mirror ..
I look at myself or probably you could say satre at my existence..like always when i question my existence.

I know I am just a normal girl , who isn't noticed by many .

El... Come down for breakfast ...soon
You will be late for training, mom yelled down from kitchen

Morning mom.. i said sitting down on the couch ,

morning El my mom greeted back
as she was setting the table for breakfast

Mom where is dad?... i asked

he should be here by now he is never late for breakfast lunch or dinner my mom said wondering.

That case is true though that man has discipline running in his fucking veins , after all he is the royal Head warrior for the kings pack 'The Royal Pack' .

They say that the moon goddess has blessed every wolf with certain characteristics and also powers for the families in the royal pack and it is passed through out every generation .

In our land, the warrior families are revered for their unwavering loyalty, strict discipline, and deep respect. These noble traits are passed down through generations, binding us together in a shared legacy of honor. Yet, my father, the head warrior, stands apart even within this esteemed company. His influence and authority extend further than those of the other royal warriors, a testament to his exceptional leadership and the profound respect he commands.

The king's family is endowed with many known and hidden powers. Their very presence radiates dominance and royalty. While most of their supernatural abilities remain a mystery to the common pack members, there's one power that every werewolf is aware of: the king or the prince destined to rule has the unique ability to choose their own mate. Despite the moon goddess bestowing upon them their true fated mate, they have the power to select anyone they deem fit to be the queen.

Although the kings have not used this power in a long time, many believe it to be nothing more than a rumor. Nobody knows for sure if it's true or false. Some say that the moon goddess granted this power to test the loyalty of the royal family, to see if they would trust in her choices for their own good. There's even a story about a king who chose a different mate, and it didn't end well.

"Oh, there he is," my mom said, snapping me back to reality. My dad looked tense and kind of angry. I knew better than to talk to him when he was in that mood.

"What happened?" my mom asked as we were halfway through our breakfast.

"One of the kids rejected his mate," my dad replied. My mom gasped in horror.

"What a shame. How can one decline the moon's blessings?" she said.

One thing about the head warrior of the royal family is that we are loyal not only to the king's family but also to the moon goddess above anyone else. My dad could kill the king with one word from the moon goddess.

"What will the court do to him?" I questioned my dad.

"He didn't follow the rules, so the court will be harsh on him. If he has a good reason, he might be lucky."

In our pack, there are strict rules about mates. If someone doesn't want their mate for any particular reason, they have to give notice to the court with a proper reason during the mating season. The court then conducts a thorough investigation and decides if they can choose a different mate and reject their fated mate.

I know this sounds like a human divorce committee, but everyone felt it was a necessary rule. Many werewolves suffer from the pain of being cheated on or rejected by their mates. Some still think it's unnecessary, while others are thankful for it.

The rule was established to address the pain that mates go through, something that was previously beyond anyone's control. Unfortunately, some took advantage of it. The grandfather of the current king ensured that every wolf follows it by any means necessary.
