Jean stepped onto the dull red carpet in her room, calling the guards off for their break. She left her door open so if anyone required her, they could enter as they please; she was doing simple work today anyway.
She sat in her chair and read over the titles to see which one she would take care of first. She chose one regarding hilichurls near the bridge, requiring them to be cleared before a delivery would arrive. Jean noticed a knight leaving, and asked them if they could take care of it. She didn't usually ask for favors, as she would always do them herself. The knight complied and left the building. Jean trusted them to defeat the hilichurls, and she began reading over more sheets.
Once in a while, she thought about what Amber was doing. The thought of her spilling her emotions out accidentally replayed in her mind, and she couldn't help but think if Amber would keep it safe with her, or tell Lisa. Amber was a very wonderful woman, yet a daredevil with mischievous aspects in her personality. Jean sighed and convinced herself that her secret was safe with Amber, as a high role in the Knights of Favonius would never betray another knight. Dragging herself away from the topic, she took care of more work.
Jean was in a decent mood today. She was still exhausted, but the coffee boosted her slightly. All she could think about was papers and pens, laws and punishments, hilichurls and... Lisa. Any time she dove into her thoughts, the woman would always make her way into there. It was strange- she wasn't irritated though. She could never bring herself to be truly upset at Lisa.
Jean felt herself losing consciousness because of her tiredness, she thought to herself, "Looks like the coffee wasn't strong enough... It was only Good Hunter though, so that's okay." She shook her head and started tapping her pen on the desk, reading through an issue referring to hilichurl equipment gathering in an area. This would be a simple fix, as the rest of the writing stated that there weren't any hilichurls there. She had other important matters anyway, so sending a group out to destroy the equipment wouldn't be a problem.
The increasing sound of tapping on the window flowed into Jean's ears. She took this as an excuse to stand up. Once she did, she stretched after having sat down for a couple hours. She turned back to the large window, curious to what sourced the noise. Rain was dripping from the outside, coating the terrain. She placed her hand against the glass, taking in a deep breath and darting her eyes around. Once she was done with her refresher, she turned back again.
She stood near her desk, tilting her head sideways to read the next sheet of paper. The words saying "Secret topic in ——— of ———." Jean looked behind her, and turned to walk over to find the book and review it. It had been a minute of her trying to find it. She trailed her finger over the sides of each book, reading the titles along them.
All of a sudden, a slender body pressed against hers. She gasped, and turned her head with raging irritation. Before she saw who it was, she said, "Please don't do that, I'm not comfo-" Before she could finish, her eyes opened to a tall lady behind her. Lisa. Lisa held Jean's finger and moved it slightly to point it at a specific book.
"That's my favorite." She spoke, her voice tender. Jean was wide-eyed from the surprise, and looked at the book she was pointing to. She thought to herself, "————, ———. Her favorite book." Lisa was still compressed to her. She let go of Jean's hand as Jean moved her fingers into their proper place. Jean reached out for the book, but right as her fingertips were about to place themselves on the worn leather, Lisa softly set her hands on Jean's waist, delicately slithering their way around her figure into a light hug. Faintly gasping, Jean shivered. She had no intentions of showing any reaction to this, as it was just a hug. Lisa took this to notice and stayed there as Jean finally grabbed the book.
Jean turned around to face Lisa, however, they were closer than Jean expected. The brunette stood above her, smiling at her red cheeks. The contrast between her eyes, her hair, and her face was amusing. Jean held the book close to her chest, staring into the taller woman's beautiful eyes. The feeling of Lisa's hands wrapped around her sides, seeing her magical eyes up close created an electric feeling throughout her body. Lisa grabbed the book with one hand, opening it halfway and putting it next to their faces, covering the sight of the open door.
Jean slowly put her hands on Lisa's shoulders, subconsciously pulling her in to help her lean forward. As their heads were a couple centimetres away, the two women took small breaths in. Jean looked at Lisa's pink lips, down at her shining purple necklace, and back into her eyes. Her expression was painted with a fear-like gaze, however, it wasn't fear at all.
Before either of them could speak, Lisa tilted her head to the side and leant in. They both exchanged a tender kiss, soft lips on each other's. Jean pulled Lisa in more, deepening it. Her grip became stronger as both women pushed into it even more. Everything around them felt dreamlike, something too amazing to be reality; however, this wasn't a dream at all. Lisa could taste Jean's chapstick- strawberry. A perfect taste for a perfect woman like her.
Losing their breaths, both women released from each other. Jean panted heavily, her face a dark red. Lisa looked up at her, laughing softly and walking over to put the book down on Jean's desk. Jean had just recovered to her normal breathing pace, raising her head...
