"oi, y/n! over here idiot!" saeko tanaka's voice rang from the other side of the malls parking lot. you were out with yū to get new shoes for the both of you. you didn't expect to see her there.

saeko began to run to you, ryunosuke tagging along behind her catching yū's attention.

once they reached you, she pulled you into a tight hug, while ryu head-locked your younger brother as a greeting.

"i haven't seen you in like a week! akiteru's in the car too! you didn't tell me you were coming to the mall today!!" saeko began, wasting no time in lecturing you for not texting or calling her everyday.

"i'm just here to buy me and yū some new formal shoes. we're going to our aunts wedding in a week and we both need dates still. we at least need to look presentable, right yū?" you sigh at the inconvenience of being single.

"speak for yourself y/n! ryu, you'll come with me right? c'mon you're my best friend!" yū pleaded with ryu.

ryu was quick to say yes, which left you in an even worse mood. your little brother had someone to go with and you didn't. how sad.

even if they're just friends, its still mega embarrassing.

your thoughts were cut off however because saeko then yelled to the car where akiteru was sitting, "HEY NERD, Y/N NEEDS A DATE TO A WEDDING SO GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE AND ASK THEM!"

your face flushed a sort of pink as you wave your hands dramatically at saeko trying to tell her to shut it. unfortunately she just smiled innocently at you as akiteru, the boy you've had a crush on since 1st year stepped out of the car.

"did you say y/n?" he asked looking around, and finally catching your eye. "dude, i haven't seen you in forever!" he smiled at you.

that was like a punch to the gut. really? "dude"?

you put on the fakest smile ever and reply with a, "yeah! i missed you!"

you internally kicked yourself. that next five minutes was spent in an awkward silence and a constant stream of overthinking as all of you walked towards the mall entrance.

you, saeko & akiteru had been friends since 1st year and had grown even closer in the past few years. you now consider them both your best friends. though it was no secret that you had a thing for akiteru, at least, to saeko anyway.

once you reached the entrance everyone filed into the mall and everyone looked at you. "where are we going first? i really wanna go to the sports outlet on the second floor!" yū told you.

"we're going to get our formal shoes and maybe even clothes first. then we'll go wherever ryu and saeko need to go. after that, if we have time, we'll go to the sports outlet, okay?" you tell all of your company.

"yeah, yeah fine." yū pouted at you, but you payed no attention, akiteru was looking at you and immediately averted his gaze once you had looked back.

maybe he does like me? you thought, scanning his perfect features. not noticing the scowl on saeko's face.
