song jiyeon stood up from her seat, dusting her skirt as she walked towards the microphone stands. jang kyujin, who was beside her, clung to her arm like a child and whispered lowly. ❝i'm a bit nervous, yeon.❞ the older smiled and patted the younger's head affectionately.
❝you'll do well, kyujin. don't worry too much.❞
jiyeon took her place in between jinni and sullyoon, the pink–headed girl leaning her body towards the tall frame of the girl as soon as she stood in front of the stand beside her.
❝i hope i don't make any mistakes.❞ the choi muttered, earning a breathy chuckle from the song. ❝why are you guys so nervous? you'll be fine, yoon.❞
the pink haired girl looked up from her shoulder with an unnoticeable pout, ❝the real question is, why are you so calm?❞
the eldest song child shrugged indifferently. ❝there's no reason for me to be nervous.❞ sullyoon turned to the duo after overhearing their conversation and smiled.
❝so cool, jjyeon.❞
the raven haired girl chortled lightly, waving the two off. the song smiled at the camera when it turned to her, their title track 'o.o' playing in the background.
jiyeon turned away from the front and directed her attention to jinni, giving her a pat in the head once the younger's part had ended. ❝see? no need to be so nervous, right?❞
she assured, inching herself away from the microphones. the younger only gave a smile and a nod as a response, the older going back to her position to not miss her part. ❝gon' poppin' it, poppin' it, poppin' it now.❞
jiyeon looked around— making eye contact with lily who was holding up an 'okay' sign. the korean–australian duo shared a soft smile before focusing back to the show. unexpectedly, her eyes suddenly locked with oh haewon, who instantly smiled.
unaware of the camera that now displayed her and the slightly older girl, the song imitated haewon's habit mockingly, poking her cheek with her tongue. haewon rolled her eyes at her same age friend's mocking, gesturing subtly that they will talk later— still, a smile remained in her lips.
the song child, however, only laughed it off— not scared at the leader at this point of their friendship. ❝why am i in between the two of you.❞ jinni sighed in exasperation and earned a pat from both the oh and the song.
❝you're my— our child, you can't do anything about it.❞ the choi can only sigh in defeat, earning amused stares from the duo. after the small interaction between them, the trio continued on focusing in not messing up their debut song.
the song wasn't focusing properly after that, swaying her body along with the rhythm and instinctively singing her parts. but her trance ended soon after hearing her friend's mistake, lowering her head and suppressed her laughter to not make it obvious— her shoulders shaking from the difficulty of keeping it to herself.
somehow, the oh managed to see the younger girl suppressing her laughter. ❝jinni, can you move back for a moment?❞ the pink–haired girl did as told with no hesitation, the black–haired girl stepping in front of her and pinched the raven–haired girl's right arm.
the song caressed her arm blindly but continued to look down, still trying to keep herself calm. haewon rolled her eyes and asked the center to switch with her, to which the younger agreed instantly with amusement in her eyes.
the only time jiyeon looked up was when she had to sing her parts, but as soon as she finished, her mind immediately wondered back to the earlier scene— causing her to lower her head once again. haewon pushed down the urge to smack her friend in front of the camera with great difficulty.
the song finally exploded moments after, her left hand covering her mouth as she laughed hard— the oh beside her repeatedly smacking her shoulder with a glare.
to song jiyeon's luck, their small show ended already and was now on their way back to their seats. though now, she had to sit beside a glaring oh haewon.
oh well, she'll just deal with it.
