A/N - Human!Cas and Human!Nezael (my own mc from 'Not So Faithful') go shopping and find some fairy lights.

"Look, how many times do I need to tell you both!" Dean sighs angrily, but Cas and I just stare at him blankly. Sam rests a hand on his brothers shoulder,

"Go easy on them Dean, it's their first time shopping", Dean huffs angrily before stomping off and coming back quickly with a pen and a piece of paper,

"If they can't remember it I'll write it down instead", Dean mumbels a few words, before handing me the piece of paper, I looked down at it, reading the list to myself: pie, beer, salad stuff, beef, loaf, and newspaper. I nod my head, grab Sam's car keys and usher Cas out of the bunker.

Cas sits in shotgun while I put the key in the ignition and start the car. I'd only driven a few times, but Sam seemed to trust me enough, one thing for sure, was that I wasn't allowed anywhere near Dean's baby, man did I wish I could drive that shiny impala.

As I drive a peaceful silence falls between the two of us, for majority Cas keeps his attention on the road and any fields we pass, but now and then he breaks the silence by pointing out any flowers he thinks are pretty,

"Ok I have to ask, you must have pointed out 5-10 different types of flowers now, so what's your favourite flower?", I ask, Cas turns his head from the fields and looks at me, his head tilting slightly, he turns his head back to the field and sighs into his seat,

"Blue bells" he answers,

"Why are they your favourite?", I ask, curious to know why a little blue flower is his favourite,

"I just think they are pretty, with how they cover landscapes, they are just such a pretty colour, more than just blue... like this perfect mixture between blue and purple" he trials off looking back into the fields, continuing his little rant about how he also likes snowdrops, sunflowers, tulips and dahlias.

The supermarket was very crowded, people bustled around us like ants, everyone seemed as if they were in this massive rush. I had enjoyed listening to my brother talk about the flowers he liked, but now I felt uncomfortable. I could tell that Cas was too, though he was older he seemed to hide behind me, I put it to the fact that I'd been human longer than him. We managed to pick up pie, that was easy, apple pie for Dean check. But salad and beer posed a more difficult challenge. There were so many options, I questioned calling Dean, but we could do this...right?

I ended up calling Dean.

"There's just so many options, I don't know what you drink, you just say "beer?", I lowered my voice to impersonate Dean, which received a not impressed reply,

"I don't sound like that!" he grumbles, before sighing and softening his voice, "Look just anything, pack of 6, don't mind-" before Dean can finish I thank him stressfully before hanging up on him, and speed walk back to Cas, who was stood by the vegetables, where he was thoroughly inspecting what I thought to be lettuce, or could of been celery, I didn't know.

We must of spent another 10 minutes in the shop, before Cas came trotting up to me with a box in his hands,

"What's that?" I ask him, taking the box from his hands and curiously inspecting it,

"Something called 'fairy lights' I think", Cas said while taking back the box,

"Well it's not on the list... but we can get them anyway", Cas' face lit up to this, a wide smile spreading across his face as he trotted back over to the cashier.

We pay for the stuff, get back into the car and drive back home happily, looking forward to showing the boys what we'd got.

"Where's the meat?" Dean asked,

"Newspaper?" Sam followed, but Cas and I just ignored the brothers, we were too busy inspecting the fairy lights. Cas took the box of the kitchen table and took it to the couch, I followed soon after and helped him untangle the lights, we hear mumbling behind us, before Sam comes over and gives us some strange objects,

"What are these?" I ask, picking up the objects, which instantly felt cold in my palm,

"Batteries", Sam states, his tone making it sound as it were obvious, sassy moose,

"What do we do with them?" Cas asks, taking the batteries from my hands, and fiddling with them himself, Sam sighs and takes the batteries from Cas.

We watch intently over Sam's shoulder as he fiddles around with a little box that was attached to the lights, puts in the batteries, and pushes a little sticky out bit that was on the box, as soon as he does that, the lights around us light up.

Cas and I sit in awe for a while as we watch the lights before us twinkle, Deans walks up to look, before he jogs off somewhere,

"You want to be able to see them properly" he shouts as he runs off somewhere, as soon as he said that the lights above us turned off, engulfing us in darkness, but now the lights before us shone so much more brightly, they were beautiful. I watched as the light reflected and twinkled in my brother's eyes, he was so mesmerized. I look at Dean, who stands not too far from us, even though he was further into the darkness of the room, I could still make out the warm smile on his face. Cas picks up one of the lights and inspects it in his hands, I take the light from his hand, and start to wrap the cord around his head, making a little fairy light crown, but from where he sat, he looked like he had,

a halo.
