Running towards the tree line, Sarah looked back at her burning house for the last time. She kept on running for a mile and a few more after that. Once her energy was drained, she passed out cold on the wet dirty soil. She woke up with a startle. There was an owl who just stopped cawing. But it was a very strange cow but Sarah did not really care after all she was alone and had no family, no house, no food. Sarah started to find some water but there were really only trees. She likes the feeling of being around water and swimming for some reason she doesn't know why. "I'm just glad there are not any coyotes, "she thought. Then out of nowhere, she walked straight into an invisible wall of what felt like honey and fell forwards in water that was very deep. The water was so cold that she went numb and past out. Sarah woke with a scream. She was laying in a hut raped in tight blankets. "It's ok" said a tall white man who was studying me very weirdly. "Where am I and who are you?" "My name is Silas and honestly I am not sure, '' he said solemnly. "Well can you help me get out of this blanket?" Sarah said harshly. "Yes, yes sorry" Silas said. "So who are you and how did you get here and I was in water-and-and I-" "Wow wow slow down. I heard a scream and went toward the sound and you were drowning so I came to help." "Well... thank you. But you didn't really answer my question." she said a bit less rudely. "Ah, girls. Well I was working in the woods in California and, and there was a huge forest fire and I was running and I hit a barrier and passed out." he said looking kind of flummoxed. "Uh" Sarah said "I guess we're both lost" "sounds like it because I have been out there and it is not really... well bright." Sarah even more flummoxed than earlier. "Well I want to see it for myself." "If you insist." Silas said. And with that they opened the ancient door and stepped into the unknown with no thought of her home.
