The spirit realm

The beginning

All I could remember was her smile, as she faded into dust a tear rolled down my cheek I swore I would keep her safe, I have failed. I wake up to my aunt yelling for me to get ready for school, i know I have to go but I feel sick, in a weirder way. I feel lost, that smile is the only thing I remember why did I take her to the spirit realm, that spirit ruined everything. My aunt comes into my room and opens the blinds, "Auntie no it's to bright" she turns around "it's time to get up and get ready for school" I put the blanket over my head "I don't feel good", she puts her hand against my forehead "jade your fine, now please get ready for school" "Auntie can I please just stay home today I'll do anything" she sighs and looks at me "alright you can stay home, I'll leave a list of chores on the bench downstairs", "Ok I'll do the chores, thank you auntie". My two cousins river and jasper, and my little sister opal get dropped off at school, while my aunt maple goes to work. 7 years ago me, opal, my father and mother all lived together in a cottage in the woods. My father had cancer and my mother was stressed out from work and looking after me & my little sister, My father died from the cancer and my mum shut down from the world. She became the worst parent after that, leaving all the responsibilities to me, I was only 9 what was i meant to do I couldn't get a job or anything, plus I had to look after opal who was 7. One night a week after fathers death I woke up to the smell of smoke, I sat up really quickly and ran out of my room. There was a fire "MUMMMM OPALLLLL" "WHEREE ARE YOUUU" I hear a faint voice "jade is that you" it was opal, I run to her room to see her scared "jade, I saw mum run past my room, she was holding a lighter, then she ran downstairs and after that I smelt smoke" I quickly crouch to her level "ok we must quickly leave the house we will jump out the window alright" "I must do something quickly first, stay here ok" she looks up "ok, be quick though" I smile at her and run downstairs, there was a big fire and on the floor I saw my mum lying there "MUM!" She turns her head towards me "I'm sorry, I cant live here anymore, go" "I love you" her breathing stoped "NOOOO!" I fell to the floor crying "JADE HELP" I stood up and ran back upstairs "OPAL" there was a wall of fire in front of her bedroom door blocking the way in "hold on opal I'm coming" I run through the fire holding my breath "jade" I opened the window and lower her down, I didn't care about getting hurt I just jumped out. We ran away from the house going towards the town to our aunts house, she got the fireman to put the fire out at the cottage, because my aunt and cousins were the only family members left we stayed there. That's how we ended up here, I wake up and get dressed, then I go downstairs and make a tea. I hear a knock at the door, I open it, it's her... "Amber... is that you?"
