Chapter 16

Damien's pov

I woke up the best way possible. With my beloved snuggling into my chest. I squeezed him tightly before getting out of bed. 

"Damien?"

"Shh, go back to sleep. I'm going to check on Bruno. He should be awake by now."

I lulled Camilo back to sleep. Smiling at his sleepiness, I made my way to the, always changing, guest room and found Valeria and Mirabel talking to Bruno.  Thankfully he was awake, but if Valeria was with him, it means she's going to yell at me. I started to backtrack quietly out of the room.

"Hold it."

I flinched but froze on the spot.

"Dumbass Damien. I thought you grew out of that faze. Apparently not."

"I told you to stop calling me that!"

"Well unless you start thinking, it'll never stop! How could you forget to make the antidote for Somnolienta poisoning! You should be very familiar with it at this point!"

"Well excuse me! I haven't had to make that potion in year so I forgot how to make it!"

"What kind of lame ass excuse is that?! Mama Sofia should be rolling in her grave!"

I froze and grew more angry.

"How dare  you bring Mama into this!"

I lashed out and attacked her with a whip made from water. She quickly countered with a crudely made wood and leaf shield. I went to trap her inside a bubble, but she dodged and sent leaves at me, that were sharpened to a fine point. She jumped out the window, taunting me from the outside. I jumped down after her, trying to land as close to the lake as humanly possible. 

Third person pov

Damien and Valeria fought viciously; The Unicorn Alchemist vs The Water Fox Witch. Plenty of trees were destroyed in the process. Selkie and Pandora refused to fight each other, but stayed by their respective Master's sides. 

"Damien! Stop this!"

"Stay out of this Mirabel!"

Camilo woke from the loud clashes of magic, and rushed outside. He stood next to Mirabel, in only a pair a sleeping pants, watching as his love fought against he best friend. Having enough of it, Camilo rushed out onto the the battle field. 

"Damien, that's enough!"

Damien's attention was split for a mere moment, but in that moment a tree fell. 

"No!"

Damien lay on the ground, pinned underneath the massive tree. Mirabel saw many different colors, but red was the final one. She flew calmly onto the field. A tornado behind her, butterflies flitting about her in a very angry swarm. Damien stood up, the tree having been pried off him thank to his Spriggans. Camilo helped him stand, but Damien looked worried, holding his ribs in pain. 

"Mirabel! Valeria, the shield! Selkie, get Granny Sasha here now! Bruno, get out of here!"

Damien pressed both hands to the ground as Valeria stabbed her staff in the ground in front of her. Focusing their magic, a thick transparent barrier encased Mirabel and her raging tornado. 

"Mirabel, no!"

Damien snapped his head to the side and saw Mirabel's family. 

"Get out of here!"

The barrier slipped with his divided attention, causing Isabella, Dolores, and Antonio to go flying. Damien threw his hand out and caught them on a bed of water. Damien flew to his knees, clenching his eyes close. 

"Damien! Your core can't handle this much output!"

"Mirabel needs help! Don't worry about me!"

Focusing his attention back on the barrier, the raging winds were sealed back up.

"Damien! Valeria!"

"Granny!"

The barrier had strength pushed into it thanks to the elder witch. Damien felt less strain on his core, but the strain still there was excruciatingly painful. After an hour, Mirabel's core finally grew exhausted and she she collapsed to the ground. Damien followed suit, falling face first into the crater. 

"Mirabel/Damien!"

Camilo, Valeria, and Granny Sasha ran to Damien, while the rest of the Madrigals' ran to the now awake Mirabel.

"What happened?"

"Mirabel go prep the guest room now!"

Craning her head, she saw Damien in Camilo's arms. His face was flushed, he looked like his breathing hurt him. Mirabel panicked and flew through the open window and successfully transformed the guest room into a medical room. Selkie came with her to prep the bed for Damien.

Valeria came running in holding Damien. She placed him on the bed and placed her hands on his chest. 

"Not there. Selkie, start pushing magic into him. His core's fracture has grown. He's losing magic fast."

Selkie paled and slammed her hands on Damien's chest. She pushed magic into his core while Valeria did her damnedest to heal the fracture. Granny Sasha came running in and spelled Damien's core strengthening potion into his stomach. 

Damien's pov 

It's so dark.....

Where am I....

Who am I....

My mother is Sofia Calderis, I am a -----, my best friend is -------, my familiar is a selkie, my student is -------, my Vita Socium is ------, and I live in ------ 

What is my name....

I can't remember my name...

It's so cold here....

I just want to go home....

Let me go home.....

Let....me....go...HOME!
