"Man, hard to believe it's been nearly two months already. Time flies when you're having fun, eh?"

"I'm sure we'd have even more fun if we didn't have to study... They're already giving us exams, not even two months into the semester!"

"Less complaining, more reading. At the rate you're going, you'll fail before your Huntress career will even start, Ruby."

"Party pooper..."

Indeed, the young Rose was not a fan of studying.

With surprise exams, courtesy of Oobleck for reasons RWBY could not discern, the four Huntresses in training had decided to have a study session together, to exchange notes and give tips.

By that I mean everyone copied Weiss' notes and it was up to the heiress to explain it all too. For Yang and Ruby's sakes, as Blake had a more or less decent grasp on the subject already.

The two half-sisters were also not making Weiss' job any easier, taking every opportunity to turn away from studying to do literally anything else. Weiss was understandably getting tired, so she decided to call a break for the moment while she went to grab herself a drink.

She disappeared into the kitchen, leaving Yang, Ruby and Blake alone with their notes. Scribbles and random doodles, in Ruby's case.

"You think we could get Y/n to swipe the exam notes from Oobleck?" Yang was met with a raised eyebrow from raven haired partner.

"Firstly, stop trying to rope Y/n into your weird schemes, Yang. Secondly, I'd understand him swiping Glynda's exam notes, but how could he get Oobleck's?"

"I dunno, he's resourceful enough. I figured he could just go with Goodwitch in the teacher's lounge and y'know, a quick swish here and small whoosh there and bam, we know exactly what to learn from the exam."

"Uh huh. Because Oobleck would definitely not notice his papers going missing"

"Wow, you can be a real negative Nancy sometimes, you know that Blake?"

"Oh no, whatever will I do with that information..."

Yang stuck her tongue out in response to Blake's overly sarcastic retort.

As the two continued to bicker through facial expressions, Ruby let out a sigh as her pen ran itself purposelessly on the paper.

"I wonder what Y/n is doing anyway. Haven't seen him all day..."

"He's probably doing the same as us, actually" Blake decided to be the better woman and interrupt her and Yang's bickering to answer the young redhead.

"You think he's studying too? But he doesn't even attend Beacon, officially."

"Yang, he still needs an education. Since he can't leave Beacon, Glynda is tutoring him personally."

"Oooh, ouch. The little guy has his work cut out for him, I bet."

Yang cringed lightly, imagining what it would be like to have one on one lessons with Goodwitch all day.

As the discussion shifted topics, Weiss returned from the kitchen. Her eyes caught sight of something curious.

"Hm? Is it just me or is Blake's bed...tilted?"

[Wut?] was RBY's collective answer as their sights turned to Yang and Blake's bunk beds.

Indeed, upon closer inspection Blake's top bunk seemed to start leaning. Dangerously so.

"Is it gonna fall?"

"Nah, I don't think so. They're sturdy enou-"

"It's falling!" Blake's eyes widened as her bed tilted further and further before the books holding the frame up decided to call it a day and go home.
