《LEVI'S POV》

"Ughh, I hate Christmas." Leah whined, while plumping down on Levi's bed. "How can they actually think they can make me go to church this many times without me becoming utterly depressed?"

"I don't want to be rude, my dear sister, but any minor inconvenience makes you claim to be depressed." Levi teased her.

She wisely decided to not react, except for rolling her eyes at him. "Well, do you look forward to Christmas then?"

"Have I ever? I mean this year truly is especially worse than usual, but Christmas has never been much of a joyous occasion for me." Levi had to agree with her distain for the holiday.

"Exactly. If only they gave us some presents, but no: 'Christmas is to celebrate Jesus Christ coming to deliver us from sin, not to lavishly eat and spend money on earthly things such as gifts.'"

"I think they just didn't want to buy presents for all 12 of us." Levi grinned.
"That's just stupid. Contraceptives exist for a reason." Leah got up and started walking around the room.

Levi didn't really have anything to argue against her point, so he just watched how she looked through his window.

"What?? You can see Jay's room from here?" Leah apparently had to make her discovery loud and clear to her brother, as she shouted loud enough for probably anyone in the room (and most next to them) to hear.

"Shut up!" Levi hissed angrily, quickly getting up to close the curtains. "If mom and dad realize, they'll probably freak out."

"How is he doing?" Leah looked at him, with a bit of concern on her face. Up until now they hadn't been in a room together without their parents present, so they hadn't gotten to talk about it yet.

"Fine. I think. I haven't really spoken to him since we got back. All I know is what Matt told me. Just that he misses me a lot and he hopes we'll get a chance to speak to each other."

Leah looked saddened a bit.
"Gosh. I mean I'm sure you will. At some point they will have to give you back your phone." His sister tried to cheer him up.

Still, it couldn't make Levi feel much better. He knew his parents would never accept him being with Jay. Even when he'd grow up and get a place of his own, they would still regard it as a betrayal if he ended up dating Jay again. Or any other guy for that matter.

"They'll probably remove his number from my phone."
Leah chuckled. "Do you really think they'll be able to figure out how to do that? If there's anyone who doesn't know how to work with technology it's our parents."

"They might just ask Jonathan or Micha to do it for them."
Leah shook her head. "Stop thinking so negatively. I'll talk to Seth even, if you want me to. I'll make sure he doesn't say a word to dad if you talk to Jay at school."

Levi walked to his desk, sitting down in his chair. "No. We can't be mean to Seth about this, he's only doing as he is told. Also, if dad finds out anyway he will definitely make me change to another school. And then I'll lose Alex and Matt too. I simply can't risk that."

"I'm just so frustrated! How dare they do this to you? How can they claim to love you, to want the best for you, but then they go off to make you feel miserable... for liking someone? It's just crazy!"

For a brief moment Levi thought he could see tears glistening in his sister's hazelbrown eyes. It made him feel emotional too, but he knew he couldn't show it. He couldn't make her more upset than she already was. He knew his sister could do crazy things when she was angry about something.
