Chapter 1: The Crash Of True Love. Sorta.
Crash. Such a little word is so powerful, meaning so many different and complex things all at once. It can be the beginning of true love, the end of what was barely begun, or the spilt second when everything goes wrong. April 1st, 2010. It's not just April Fool's day. It's Prom Night.
But before we get to all the action, I will introduce myself properly. I'm Renee Evans, a.k.a. the "straight A" geeky girl who has no life. Well, I guess I do, because technically every living thing carries out all life processes including... blah blah blah. I am getting off topic, once again going off about something in science class. You probably get the point....CRASH!
My face slammed against the hard hallway floor, along with my huge stack of books. My long, dark, wavy hair was all over the place, and my glasses broken. Mom is going to kill me. I dreaded going home from this second. I shrugged and got up, and what I saw gave me quite the surprise.
"Are you okay?" Eli Taylor, the hottest, smartest, and most popular guy, said. To me! I have had a huge crush on him since the second grade. But the problem is, I don't really know how to have a crush on someone. I am completely unable. Whenever I put myself out there, some one walks all over me.
"Uh....um...yeah..." I said, trying to gather and fix my hair, which only made it ten times as worse. The crowd that had fixed around us observing the scene broke out in laughter, and I wasn't surprised to see that Eli was chuckling, too.
"Alright, then. Later." He touched my shoulder ever so slightly, and then strided off down the long hallway with his possy full of populars. I felt humiliated, like I was at the bottom of the food chain. I guess I am now, and always will be.
