Chapter 10: The Mysterious Anbu

Five years later: age 12

Life went on for the Uchiha brothers as they focused on completing their academy courses. The pain and betrayal from the Uchiha Massacre were still prevalent, but thanks to their loving mother and Obito's family they were able to somewhat move on from the tragic event. For Sasuke, it was cruelty and fear and he felt staring at Itachi's eyes. He always considered Itachi to be his main rival even though Naruto was equal in skill, he was more motivated for surpass Itachi, so he trained hard to get his father's recognition. He loved Itachi, but he felt like he always ignored for the sake of his missions and became more distant, despite that he was his role model that is why it was so painful to see his brother become the rouge shinobi he is.

For Naruto was different, sure he felt the pain from Itachi's betrayal, it hurt more when he saw Izumi abandoning him. For the first he felt truly abandoned as already developed a close bond with her almost like an older sister figure. She would always make Naruto smile and enjoyed most of his energy during their time together. She was the only one that made him truly felt safe despite the cruel glares he received from the villagers he knew he could count on her. To him it felt like she stopped loving him, hating him like all the other villagers do.

With Obito spending more time in the footsteps of Sandaime, Rin working at the hospital, and Kiyomi already attending school as well as her training. They dealt with their problems on their own, even though their loving mother was always there, it wasn't the same anymore. Sasuke became more withdrawn and distant not even paying attention to anyone except Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji, and somewhat Hinata who tried to cheer him up whenever they had class. Naruto pretty much acted like if nothing ever happened but on a free-spirited mask in front of his close friends, while also being somewhat withdrawn.

They remain at the top of their class earning the rookies of the year multiple times in a row, because of their talents they were nicknamed "Sharingan Twins". Their popularity only increased over the years. Everything the Uchiha brothers do would be cheered by their large army of fangirls, the loudest being Ino and Sakura, who made everything into a competition over their attention which sadly ended up ruining their friendship. The boys gave up trying to silence their fangirls as they resorted to just ignoring them and sitting far away as possible. They still maintained their close friendship with Shikamaru, Choji, and Kiba and was often seeing hanging out on the school playground as bros.

Sasuke wore a similar outfit from his academy days, but now instead of black, now was a navy blue short sleeved shirt. Similar to his shorts he changed it to a white color, with white arm warmers for comfort as well as a small kunai pouch clipped to his left thigh. Naruto have a quite a dramatic change wearing a navy blue, short sleeved hoodie with the Uchiha crest on his back. Underneath his jacket, he wore black t shirt with the Uzumaki swirl, like Sasuke he wore shorts only difference it was dark grey with a kunai pouch attached in the same manner as Sasuke. To add badass look, he added anbu style tights for comfort, and blue shinobi sandals to finish. When they came to class, they received compliments from all the fangirls, mostly towards Naruto, he flashed his usual foxy grin causing all the fangirls to faint at seeing the handsome Uchiha grin at them much Sasuke and Kiba's laugh.

Naruto and Sasuke mastered all their chakra control exercise and also learned most of more advanced Fire Release Techniques. Because of their additional chakra nature, they were given a set of scrolls to learn to transform their chakra into their elements.

Naruto possessing wind chakra, first mastered Wind Style Gale Palm which allows the user to release a powerful gust of wind by clasping their hands together, he first used against Sasuke making him fall on his ass during a training. The other move he learned was the Wind Style Great Breakthrough similar to the Fireball jutsu, instead of spitting a fireball, he spits a large gust of wind destroying anything in its path. When he first used it, he destroyed several layers of trees that resulted him getting chewed out by his mother. Due to Naruto's unpredictable nature, he molded the Uchiha interceptor stance into his own fighting style allowing him to catch his opponent by surprise as he focuses on barrage-based attacks.
