This is my rather short sort-of prequel to Viper. I did not at all keep the dialogue style consistent to how Adlen actually speaks in Viper, but I'm currently playing around with accents and I decided to take the fun way. I hope whoever may be reading this is okay with that. Also, it is 100% not necessary to read Viper first, unless you want to actively seek out the character inconsistencies. Just blame my lack of patience for editing, I guess. Without further ado, I present the one, the only: Silverscope!
(Westward hopefully out soon 😉)

There wasn't much to my first robbery. Aimen handed me a gun and set me as a guard. It wasn't very interesting, standing there for what felt like hours, but I was told it was useful, and that's all I needed to get paid I guess. I'd hate to be Semet though, she's gotta distract the guards who are men. Most of 'em can't resist the good old damsel act. Well, it's good for them, not the lady in question. Still, it was a sucky job I'd say. Guess I was better where I was, even if there wasn't any action.

It's been 10 minutes, more like an eternity, and no one was showing up, but I wasn't dumb. Maybe bored, lookin' for some action, but not dumb. They were either hiding, or they were gonna show up soon. Couldn'ta found their way 'round me,  cause I'm at the only entrance. After a few more minutes, hopin' Aimen would get outta there soon so I could buy a drink, I decided that they might not even be here yet. I decided it was okay to let my guard down a little for a minute or somethin', so I sat down, back facing the door. Forget what I said 'bout not being dumb.

That was a big mistake.

Heard a soft click behind me, and started to turn around, but ya know how these things go. They got the gun out and loaded, and the little damsel ain't got no chance. Before I could even blink, the bullet hit me in the shoulder. Pro'ly deserved it, honestly. Must be a horrible guard, lettin' them sneak up on me. Still hurt like a bastard though.

"Gotch'a sugar." The unfamiliar man's voice came from behind me. I whipped my head around, holding my hand to the bullet hole that was starting to bleed and ache.

Doing my best to be nonchalant, I leaned against the wall of the empty car. "Did you need something, sir?" Spoke a bit proper, hoped a bit to throw 'im off. Worth a shot, I guess.

Hazel eyes widened and his skin paled as he realized I wasn't who he thought I was. "You... you aren't Arasel..." nah, really? Hadn't noticed, all these years and I didn' know that. What a smart guy.

"Well spotted." I rolled my eyes, cocking a hip out. My pistol glinted in the light. "Too bad it's the last thing you'll be spotting." Quick as a bullet, ironic I know, I spun the barrel and fired two shots right at his face. My training paid off as he screamed in agony, clutching the sockets where his eyes used to be. I mean, it was pro'ly agony. I dunno, I've never lost an eye.

"You two-faced SNAKE!" The man tried his best to imitate that animal through his tone, but it came out as more of a whimper.

"Well, I wouldn't say 'two-faced'," I made air-quotes with my fingers. "I never really gave the illusion of being on your side at all." I walked up ta him and leaned in close, grinnin' somethin' fierce as I breathed in the smell of fresh blood. "I thought you could see that." I spoke in his ear. "Oh wait, my bad." My knee came up to meet his nose.

As I wiped my still-smoking gun off on my sleeve, I 'eard slow clapping coming from behind me.

"Not bad rookie, not bad at all." There was a pause as if they were thinkin'a something more ta say, "now we just need a name to match the face." I turned 'round to meet eyes with Arasel Aimen.

"Name's Adleina. Adleina Asper."

Aimen gave me a smirk. "Welcome aboard Adlen."

Two words: dialogue inconsistency. Ah I'm so sorry but I couldn't help myself... if you look at the middle, you can really see where I started with her British speak and then just gave up when I revised near the beginning giving some flimsy excuse for the way she talks.
As Arasel Aimen would say "welcome aboard" the train wreck that is my editing skills!
Au revoir little biscuit!
