Chapter 1.All about the rain

BELLA

Look Anne,my slipper take the lead! Yeepee! I was jumping as I watch my slipper swam ahead my friend's slipper. Not until now! Said John. Then he let out a little laugh. I won! He rejoiced as his slipper reached the finish line. Oh men! Anne and Chris said in chorus. The three of us bowed down our heads in defeat. Then we started chasing each other.

I love the rain! It reminds me of my childhood. Innocent,free and no worries. I enjoy playing under it specially with my friends. We get to enjoy life.

As I grow up I learned to consider the rain as my companion. My comforter. I cry under it that others won't notice. I usually do that whenever I don't want others see me cry. I don't usually cry, I reserve it and let it all out under the rain.

Beeeeeeppppppp!!!! I was startled and back to my thoughts. My heart beat so fast. I was almost hit by a car. I can't see the way I was caught in the middle of the street under a heavy rain. I heard there's a storm coming. Lucky me! I didn't even have an umbrella or a raincoat.

My mom wasn't able to give me a ride from school. She has to attend a seminar,she will go home late. My dad visited our farm he will stay there in a couple of days.

"Hey! Come on hop in." It was John riding his car. No,thanks! I'm fine. I refused.

"Are you sure? The rain is getting heavy." He insisted.

Yeah! I'm all wet and I'm near our house. . Thanks by the way.

"Okay! See you tomorrow. I hope you won't catch a cold." He smiled then started his car and drove away.

That was John the guy who always joke around. I'm happy having a friend like him. Just like the others. Anne my bestie and Chris who is always shy. At first you will think he's a gay.

I reached out for the doorknob and open the door. I ran to my room and undressed myself from my wet clothes. I took a shower I might get sick if I won't. I came out from the bathroom, put on my favorite pair of sleeping clothes.

I sat down on the chair facing my study table. I ran though my notes and answer my assignments. After I finished answering I went down to the kitchen to get some food for dinner.

Mom is not home yet it was 9:00 in the evening and the rain doesn't want to stop. I'm getting worried I hope she's safe.

I sat down at the couch and my phone ring. It's my mom. "Hello,Bella? I'm sorry darling I guess I can't go home now. The rain is getting worse." Said my mom over the phone.

It's okay mom. Yeah! I think it's better if you'll stay where you are. Don' worry about me mom,I'll be fine. Keep safe,love yah!

"Okay darling! Don't go out anymore and make sure you lock the door and windows. I'll be home tomorrow. Love you!" Said my mom before she hanged up.

Just in a few seconds gap my phone ring again. This time it's my dad. I slide the screen of my phone to the right to answer it. Hi dad,mom's not here. I spoke to my dad while yawing a little. I'm a bit sleepy.

"I know dear she called me. I just want to check up on you. Are you good there? Don't forget to----"

Before my dad finish his reminder I butted in. To lock the door and windows. I know it dad, I always keep it in mind. Bye! Love yah..

"Bye dear,keep safe. I'll see you soon. Love you." Then the call ended.

I went back to my room and lay down on my bed. I'm really sleepy and my eyes already want to close.

Hey,Bella catch! I turned my head to Chris as he pass the ball to me. I catched it easily and then pass it over to John. I saw him smile. But he's not looking at me,his eyes is on the girl next to him. I can see that he's happy as he look at her.

Chris,catch this! I heard the girl shouted. I watched her as her hair bounce behind her back. She's beautiful. I realized thay she's really familiar to me. But I can't see her face totally. Who is she? Why John look at her differently. I feel a bit hurt. I know all along that aside from being a funny guy I love John the way my heart sees him to be. The man of my dreams.

I woke up as the thunder roars and lighting strikes after it. It's 2:00 A.M. and it seems that the rain had not yet stop. Then I realized that I had a dream. I always dream of John maybe,I am thinking of him that much that's why. This time it's a bit odd. Chris was there and this girl which her face became a mystery for me. I tried to go back to sleep but I can't. I get my phone from the side table and scroll the photos from the gallery. I am looking at the picture,the one at the park with Anne. The structure of her face resembled with the mystery girl.

It's impossible! Now I am talking to myself. But they really look the same. If it is her then why is it her face was not revealed? No,it's not her. Not my bestfriend. Now I'm beginning to doubt myself if I'm crazy or not.

What if John is inlove with her? Oh,my! What if she's inlove with him too? I'm dead! I haven't told her about what I feel. I 'm not ready yet,so I'm hiding it. I don't know what will be her reaction. She's your bestfriend I'm sure she'll understand.
Gees! I'm getting worse now my mind talks to me! I really need to go back to sleep now. I'll be late for school tomorrow.

I get rid of my phone,put it back to the table then lay back down to my bed. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
