I sit in my the back seat of the car as my family rabbles on about Madonna making out with Drake on stage. Unimportant stuff. I stare out of the window the car passes a field. On the field gathered in a circle around a fire are a group of raggedy looking kids. "Troublemakers" my mom calls them. I think not.
I close my eyes as the soft thumping of rain hits the window and soothes me until I fall asleep.

*Dreams*
I open my eyes and wake up ,I look over and see that it's sun rise.
I look down and see that I'm wearing a silky dress with lavender floral and lace. Quite lovely. I turn around and see a mirror engraved into a willow tree. I look into the mirror and see my black hair fluffed into a afro with a flower crown matching the flowers on my dress. My milk chocolate skin is smooth. My lips are the usual soft pink with a hint of brown. Then the mirror disappears and left in its place are the five words :
You are one of them.
I reach to touch the carving in the tree but as my fingers are an inch away I heard a giggling which makes me jolt around. From a distance I heard more giggling. As an instinct I follow the noise. I reach a dirt path in the middle of a forest. And in the distance I see a group of kids.  I run to catch up with them while my dress flows behind me. I reach them. They are all wearing clothes similar to mine. The boys are wearing shorts with shirts and on the shirts are pockets in the front with a flower matching mine. The girls are wearing either skirts or dresses identical to mine. We are all matching with the floral. They make a circle surrounding me. They all look up at me. Then suddenly they shift and make an opening for me. I am drawn to the spot. We all join hands I feel a connection between us. One of the kids gets up and walks toward the center and picks up a nearby stick. Into the dirt he starts to carve in two
