Clang! The final bell rang. The entire class rushed towards the door and made their way outside. Jamie, lost in a book, sat in the back of the room until everyone left. she quietly packed her bag and headed towards her car. As she was walking down the stairs, she failed to notice the huge patch of ice on the second step. She slipped and slid into the parking lot. "Watch out!" Voices screamed. Jamie turned to see the commotion, only to see a truck barreling towards her. She was frozen. Screams filled the air. The impact was the last thing she felt. She heard one last scream, hardly realizing it was her own.
