To Save a Life: Seto vs. Yugi

Author's Note: I'm almost positive that I won't be good at capturing duels into words and I don't want to take too much away from the main story, so the duel scenes with be short and to the point. Enjoy. :)

The tension could be cut with a knife as we stood on the rooftop of Pegasus' castle. Yugi and Kaiba both wore faces of determination as they made eye contact with each other.

"Here's the deal, Yugi. We'll each offer up five star chips, the winner gains access to the castle and gets to duel Pegasus!". Yugi simply nodded in agreement and removed five star chips from his wristband. "And we'll also use my new dueling technology. Insert your deck and our life points will automatically set to 2000!"

"Alright. Are you ready to duel Kaiba? I will defeat you once and for all." Yugi stated with confidence.

Seto took the liberty of making the first move of this duel by summoning his Ryu Kushin. He placed it on his dueling system and a very life like hologram appeared before us. All of us on the sidelines gasped at the monster that appeared in front of us, barely being able to tell that they weren't real. Yugi followed Kaiba's lead by also summoning a monster, his Curse of Dragon that took it's place on the field, looking almost as real as Seto's monster. Yugi attacked Seto's dragon, destroying it. Despite the loss, Seto smirked as he had anticipatied his move. I know Seto has studied Yugi's strategies ever since he lost to him only weeks prior. He's lost sleep over it and has become obsessed with becoming the Duel Monster's champion again. I've never seen him so passionate about something. Both of the duelists infront of me continued to summon monsters and follow with stratagies with trap and magic cards. Like I've said before, I'm not a duelist myself, so it's hard for me to read stratagies and with so muich on the line for both Seto and Yugi, it became hard to know who to root for. Seto needed to save Mokuba.. but Yugi had his own motives for winning this duel. I began to chew on my nails with anxiety only imagining what my best friend was feeling right now. All I could do was be there to support him, in victory or defeaf. Bakura, Joey, Tea and Tristan all cheered for Yugi on the sidelines, while I was left unable to speak.  All I could do is close my eyes and send good energies to Seto.

As I opened my eyes to watch the duel, Yugi played his "Eye of Truth" card so he could view a card from Seto's hand, in hopes to get a glimpse at his strategy. The card revealed to us was Seto's favorite and strongest card, his Blue Eyes White Dragon.

"You have a Blue Eyes in your hand but you haven't played it yet?!" Yugi asked quizically as Kaiba smirked still keeping his strategy hidden. My heart sank. By just seeing that one card, I knew what Kaiba had up his sleeve. If I know my best friend as well as I think I do, then Kaiba will attemtpt to merge all three of his Blue Eyes White Dragons to form his ultimate beast.

"NO!" I heard Yugi shout. He had just attacked Sangi the Dark Clown who took host on Seto's side of the field, but Seto played his Crush Card in return, making all the monster cards in Yugi's deck with attack points above 1500 attack points useless. Yugi stared at his hand, unsure of how to counter and sweat slipping from his brow in nervousness.

"Come on, Yugi! You can still do this!" Joey shouted from the sideline. How could his friends still have so much faith in him when he had lost control of all his strongest monsters? What could he possibly do to counter this?

A few turns had passed, and Seto finally placed one of his Blue Eyes White Dragons on the field, wiping out Yugi's defenses. He smirked with confidence as he drew a card from his deck.

"Yugi.. when you faced my Blue Eyes before, they were three seperate dragons with seperate strengths. But now I have found a way to combine their power and attack points to create a duel monster without peer and attack points so great that no monster can stand up against him! THE BLUE EYES ULTIMATE DRAGON!"
