You see, I was one of those girls, athletic, but not popular. Smart, but not a nerd. Pretty, but no boyfriend. Oops, no, scratch that last part, I did have boyfriend but that was about the only place where I fit into a social class. And even there I was a little bit of an out cast because he was a year older than me. Even my name, Ryker, made me stand out. All of my siblings had strange names. I am the oldest, being 16, and my younger brother, Zak, and sister, Fae, are twins. Z is an athletic prodigy and Fae is a computer wiz even though they're only thirteen. I, on the other hand, am socially awkward, way too sarcastic, and only have a couple friends. My boyfriend, Will, is the opposite of me, he's popular and and everyone knows him.
There is a little mall, Duality Mall, in our city. I should probably start with the fact that the mall is divided by floor. The bottom floor is a "light", preppy floor, and the other floor is "dark" and more grunge themed. The mall itself is circular and has elevators two that run up and down between the floors. There's a smaller floor in between the two main floors that has restaurants.
Duality Mall is the hangout place for all the high schoolers and middle schoolers. Teenagers have basically taken over the place, you are never going to see an adult venture inside. It's were Will and I went most weekends, and it's where Fae, Z, and their friends went to hang out.
That's where we all were the day it happened.
See, it may be important for you to know that lately our city had been having a problem with a certain, how can I put this, villain. He'd been terrorizing the city of WIldwood, nonstop. So far he hadn't harmed anyone, but it was only of matter of time, right?

So, what do you think of the prologue? The rest of the book wont be in 2nd/past pov though. This and the epilogue are just going to be reflective chapters so that would put them in those povs.
But whats a good story without a love "triangle"? (you know, i never liked that term. I mean its not like the 2 guys/girls love each other.) So you'll get to meet the other part of the love triangle in the next chapter.
Ok so the picture thats in the cover space is just a filler cover for now. I'm still working on how to make the right one fit right in the book screen but yea. Oh and the song!! It's Thank you by MKTO. It just reminds me of what this mall is like with no adults.
