An IDV story (serious)

Before I start, there is some important information that you have to read. I would advise that you read the whole thing just so that I don't upset anyone.

First of all, this is a JosCarl fanfic. JosCarl as in Joseph Desaulniers and Aesop Carl from the game Identity V. I did not put any other tags on this book, like JosCarl is literally the only IDV related tag I put, so if this came under Jostonio or JosMary, I'm afraid it's not, so anyone who is not interested in JosCarl, you may leave now. Please don't kill me or my family... Anyway, if you continue reading this, find out that it's not what you wanted and proceed to bash me for it, all I can say is that it's not my fault as I did warn you and it was your choice to keep on reading.

Now that that's out of the way, hello readers, both old and new. I know some of you guys migrated from my previous book. *wink wonk* I'm back, guys, after two... or three... years. :D How was the JosCarl war? I'm glad you all made it out alive. About the Wu Chang book, I actually gave up on it and deleted it from my drafts so even if you wanted to read it, I'm sorry but you can't anymore. But at least I can put all of my focus on this book now.

Anyway, the information still applies to you guys so here it is:

So it's going to be written in a novel/prose style, not the usual script that I used to use. This might be a bit boring for some people so I'm just giving you guys a heads up now. And although I said it will be the serious version of the old book, most of it has actually changed, such as the character pairings and the order of events. Things will be going slower as someone requested for it, but the end will still remain the same. Older readers know what I mean. I don't want to spoil anything for new readers so yeah. I'm also going to be cutting off the amount of characters I use as there's just too many new people coming in and it would be a hassle to introduce a new character every couple chapters. Let me apologise in advance for not including any of your favourite characters. I will be stopping at season 11, meaning any characters from season 12 and onwards will not be in this book.

I'm assuming that all (or most) of you have come for the JosCarl content only so you won't really mind who I pair the other characters with. Right? Also, I am setting this book in the past, in the 1860s, when homosexuals were frowned upon so there won't be JackNaib or HasEli. I'm sorry for disappointing you. There will be more heterosexual couples, which you will discover as you read on. But since 1860s England was not completely anti-gay, there will also be a few homosexuals, that's not just Joseph and Aesop. Sooo the best girls, our fave lesbians, will be in there too. Yayyy!! 🥳 And because I am apparently a cis-het pro shipper according to some people, there will be hunter x hunter ships, survivor x survivor ships, and of course my all time favourite hunter x survivor.

Since this book is set so far back, you should expect it to be homophobic, sexist and possibly racist. It depends on if I can write stuff like that. I might not use racist words but the characters might have a dislike towards certain characters, like Michiko, Patricia and Wu Chang. That doesn't mean I hate any of the characters, I love them all. Some other things that some of you might not like are swearing and slurs. I'm going to use swear words and not censor them because these guys are full grown adults and have the right to say whatever they want. Slurs/insulting words will also be used, such as retard and bastard. This book will also have mature themes, including abuse, suicide, death, sex and rape. This makes the book an 18+ book but are you guys really over 18? 😏 This also means this book is a DEAD DOVE DO NOT EAT kind of book. I won't be putting any warnings on the chapters either when something funky comes up as I expect you guys to be mature and responsible enough to just deal with it.

This book is fiction, obviously, and not very canon but I still need to tell you guys as some people actually took my ideas as canon lore. I will try to keep it as canon as possible but it can't be completely true to the in-game lore. The characters' backstories will be how I interpreted them. I would encourage you guys to do your own research and don't quote me on anything as most of it will be fake. I'm not NetEase, as much as I wish I was. Also, a lot of it will be inaccurate because I have never experienced it in my entire life, for example smoking cigarettes.

Because I am lazy, I won't be updating regularly and I won't have a schedule for when I post. This way, I can also ensure you guys get the best quality chapters. Gaps between chapters might be long, just so you know. And lastly, I will probably reply to comments again. I have a feeling that this book will be less popular and I won't be bombarded with comments every second so it will be manageable. Or perhaps my editor could answer some for me? *bats eyelashes cutely* 🥺 Nah, I'm joking, I can't burden him any more than I already do.

Anyway, that's all. If there's anything else I need to add, I will update it.
