Chapter 10

-The next morning-

Rory was just laying down staring at her ceiling when Sam burst into her room.

  "Get up sleepyhead! It's time for breakfast!"

  "Jeez Sam, learn how to knock." Rory glared at her cousin. Of course, she didn't mean it. She was just too caught up in what happened last night and didn't get any sleep.

  "Sorry, Rory.." Sam frowned and started towards the door when Rory stopped him.

  "Wait, Sam. Sorry about that, i've been thinking about.." Rory paused. "Stuff."

  "Stuff as in your crush on Sage?"

  "Yes-No-kind of- wait, how did you know I liked Sage?"

  "Oh you know," Sam started counting on his fingers as he listed: "Sneaking out, always being with them, turning pink when you're around them,-"

  Rory suddenly cut Sam off. "How did you know that I snuck out to see them?"

  "I saw you climbing out the window."

  "Oh great. Did anyone else see me?"

  "Nope! Well Kai knows bc they know everything I know-. Now come on, let's go get breakfast!" Said Sam cheerfully, taking Rorys hand and running downstairs.

-After breakfast-

Rory was sitting in her room, writing down all the things she knew about Bruno and Mirabel, and ways to get them back when she heard a knock on her door.

She immediately tossed the notebook under her bed and shouted, "Come in!"

Her father entered the room awkwardly and sat down on the floor beside her.

"Hey, kid.." he started awkwardly, "how are you?"

"I'm good..?" did he just come in to ask me that? Rory thought. I don't have time for this!

"Good, good." he fidgeted with his hands a bit before continuing "Look, I just wanted to apologize for yelling at you a couple weeks back."

  "Uhh it's okay?" Rory was confused as to why her father was apologizing now, 3 weeks later.

  "Ok.. well that's all. See you at dinner." And then he walked out.

  As soon as he walked out, Rory took out her notebook and started writing down more ideas, until one clicked.

  I just have to find a way to convince them that they'd be accepted if they came back! But how?

  Rory continued to write down ideas and diagrams for hours.

  If only Sage was here to help- no! Sage didn't want to help, so you can't want them here! Just focus on your family!

  But no matter how hard she tried, she kept thinking about them.

  She had even considered stopping trying to bring them back but the piercing eyes of Carlos and what he said to her in her dream haunted her mind.

  But no matter what Carlos said, Rory knew she was in love with Sage.
