Naval Headquarters,Naval Station Horizon
2:37 PM
Fleet Admiral Charles Allerson watches the personnel of Horizon clear debris and begin repairs on the buildings and port instillations. When Allerson arrived a few hours earlier, via helicopter, he ordered that the base get back on track before the end of the week.
He continues to watch via the window of his office before going back to his desk and checking the casualty reports and damages done to the base.
The battle had been costly for both sides.
The Northern Alliance had lost 4,317 Soldiers and Sailors within 2 days of fighting. 112 are missing, most likely captured or lost to the sea. 2 destroyers are heavily damaged and 1 was sunk. 5 patrol craft were also sunk during the night raid. 9 aircraft were destroyed and their hangars have holes on their roofs.
The mobile dock damage was worse than anticipated. When repair crews finally got on to checking the damages inflicted by the bomb, while it looked minimal on the outside, the damage to the structure was bad.
There were cracks in multiple places and the there was a dent in the middle of the mobile drydock.
Repairs for the 2 destroyers would have to wait but there were talks by some of the officers to scuttle both vessels as keeping them afloat would take far too much resources than they currently have. Charles would agree them, 2 destroyers barely afloat wouldn't do much good.
Supply stores were badly hit, half their supplies were destroyed in the bombing attacks. The fuel tanks and ships suffered minimal damage, meaning they could return to normal operations almost immediately.
The Elves lost an estimated 3,000 Personnel though that number is still rising with bodies still being discovered within the sunk wreckages. 700 were captured, thanks to the efforts of the ground forces. 16 enemy ships are in the bottom of the sea or are barely floating. When ground forces arrived at the enemy fleet's anchor point, the sailors on board immediately surrendered, realizing that their situation was hopeless.
Allerson, after he arrived, had ordered any ships out at sea to return immediately. He wants them refueled and rearmed before heading out to sea again in order to maintain patrols.
The 12th Operations Fleet had been transferred to his command, giving him command of 2 carriers, and several cruisers, destroyers and support ships.
However, due to the size of the fleet, numbering 47 vessels, he can't station them here. They are currently based in Ireland for the foreseeable future until the expansion of Horizon and the creation of a second base several kilometers North inside another bay.
Right now, he should focus on the now and not the future as he haven't heard the plans for the war from his commanders.
Carthenian ships are on the way, hopefully reinforcing his already stretched fleet. A convoy is currently assembling itself in Portsmouth and the supplies they could bring could help get the base back on track.
A nearby patch of field had been cleared and built into a concrete runway days prior, allowing him the ability to have aircraft operations outside of his carriers but aircraft fuel is currently scarce. However, the tanker carrying it is only a few hours away, and Allerson hoped that it would be enough for a couple of days of sustained air operations.
Admiral Park is currently out of action as the falling debris had done a number on him. Doctors said that he will recover, calming him a little after talking with them.
