- 3. start of something new

The next day, after all the drinking and celebrating on New Year's day, Wendy, Joy, and Seulgi's apartment were filled with bottles of beer and wine. The whole gang was still in the apartment, waiting for any one of them to wake up to see how messy the apartment looked. Wendy and Taeyeon were the first ones to wake up, so they slowly started to clean the apartment. Seulgi was the last to wake up, too busy dreaming about Irene.

" Morning sleepy head! Dreaming too much bout your girlfriend are we?" Taeyeon joked.

" Thank fuck you guy's apartment is huge as fuck." Sooyoung said.

" Yeah, thank Mr. Kang for that, he's been spoiling Seulgi so much for some reason." Joy said.

" He wants me back in Ansan, to take care of the business. I don't want to, now he's trying to bribe me to go back." 

" Why would he want you there anyway? You're working well here?" Tiffany questioned.

" No idea, I keep telling him to make Daniel do it instead if he doesn't want Sora to do it," Seulgi said annoyed.

" Just don't listen to them eonnie, you have us here anyway." Rosie smiled.

" Breakfast is ready!" Taeyeon and Jennie said. They all gathered in the dining room and ate.

After breakfast, the gang left. 

" Sooyoung-ah? Are you okay? I told you not to drink so damn much last night, aigoo." Wendy slapped Joy on the back of the head lightly.

" I'm sorry, that'll be the last time I'll drink, I promise." Joy tried to steal a kiss from Wendy but she walked away from her.

" You need to take a shower, you stink of alcohol." Wendy hissed.

Four days later...

" Alright, we've been talking for a while now, I think I'm gonna ask her to be mine," Seulgi said.

" WAHHH LET'S GO!" Joy hugged Seulgi.

" Too bad Wendy already went to work," Seulgi sighed. 

" I'll see you later eonnie, make her yours okay?" Joy and Seulgi said goodbye, and Joy went off to work.

Seulgi has been the happiest for the past 3 days, grinning every second of the day because of something Irene said: " Maybe you can call me your princess someday." Seulgi was grinning all day, her face felt sore from smiling way too much. This was the day she was gonna ask her crush out. January 5, 2021. That'll be our anniversary, Seulgi thought. How was Seulgi gonna ask Irene to be hers? Well, since they can't see each other, Seulgi thought a Zoom date would be cool.

So Seulgi opened her Instagram and greeted Irene good morning.

@hi_sseulgi: good morninggg ! just wanna check in and say that i hope u have a great day today ! <33

@renebaebae: good morning rene. You too <33

But Seulgi stopped there, for now, Seulgi figured she had to build up her courage. A couple of hours later, She went to Instagram and DM'd Joy.

@hi_sseulgi: SOOYOUNG-AHHH!!!!

@_imyour_joy: WHAT WHAT WHAT??? DID YOU MAKE IT OFFICIAL YET?

@hi_sseulgi: NOT YET. BUT I'M ABOUT TO AAAA.

@_imyour_joy: WELL GO MAKE IT OFFICIAL DUMB BEAR.

Seulgi took a deep breath.

@hi_sseulgi: hellooo

@renebaebae: hiii !

@hi_sseulgi: how's your day so far?

@renebaebae: i'm good, you?

@hi_sseulgi: i'm good too.

@hi_sseulgi: Rene? You're single yeah?

@renebaebae: well for others no, but for you, yA :3

Seulgi blushed.

@hi_sseulgi: how bout we make that official? I've been crushing on you for a while now and I really wanna take you on a zoom date. So, what do you say? 2:00 pm, dress nice, get to know each other, watch Netflix?

Seulgi hit send anxiously.

@renebaebae: hmm, let me think about it, give me 10 minutes.

Seulgi got so anxious, this was the first time in years that she's been genuinely happy and smiling and everything. She couldn't afford to be sad and be rejected, that would break her more than she already is.

@renebaebae: let's do it

Seulgi couldn't believe her eyes, was she dreaming? She was so happy. She was jumping, screaming, and she cried tears of joy.

@hi_sseulgi: are you kidding orrr??

@renebaebae: nopee, I'm nott, can't have the date today, have lots to do, how bout tomorrow?

@hi_sseulgi: suree. Soo HAHA what made you say yes to the date?

@renebaebae: because i've liked you for 3 months now.

@hi_sseulgi: well i think it's safe to say that Bae Joohyun is now my girlfriend

@renebaebae: :3<3

@renebaebae: i'll talk to you later babe, dad gave me so much shit to work on, i'll talk to you later?

Seulgi was happy, so happy. She felt like she was in a Disney movie, a musical, and this was the part where she would sing a very romantic song. She asked herself if she wanted to tell her friends already. I wanna keep her to myself for a week before I tell anyone. Seulgi thought. Seulgi took a photo of herself and posted it on her Instagram story. " I'm so happy right now^" She captioned.

She then ordered some Mcdonald's and spent the day watching ' Friends'. You might be wondering, Does Seulgi work? Yep. She does, she's an Interior Designer. Designing for celebrities like EXO and her friends. Her friends are also very popular, their gang? Almost all K-pop Idols from the same company. Funny really, Seulgi was supposed to be in that same company, SM Entertainment but, Seulgi's mom thought that she was taking too long in training so Seulgi stopped and followed another career path. Wendy and Joy, on the other hand, continued in SM entertainment and became a subunit a few years back, but they were allowed to become vocal coaches.

A couple of hours later, Seulgi heard some keys jangling on the door. Wendy and Joy entered with smirks and grins.

" We know why you're so happy," They said in a sing-songy tone. Seulgi laughed at her friends.

" How was work you two?" Seulgi tried her hardest to hide her blush.

" Pretty good. Not so good at hiding your blush Seul, you look like a tomato." Joy chuckled.

" In all seriousness, happiness looks good on you Seul." Joy added.

" It really does." Wendy smiled.

" Did you ask her out?" Wendy and Joy joined Seulgi on the couch.

" Yep I did, I won't say no more. For now." Seulgi smiled.
