Dean and Cas were sitting on the couch watching T.V side-by-side. Sam had left to get a beer, leaving Dean and Cas to themselves. They were watching a soap opera that Dean kept insisting he didn't even like and just thought it was funny. Sam, of course, didn't believe this as Dean flipped it to that channel every commercial break. Dean was staring intently at the screen, intrigued by the program in front of him, and almost didn't notice as Cas's head slid onto his shoulder, letting out a small snore. Dean turned his head slightly to see the angel's half smushed face on his shoulder with his eyes closed and stared at him in shock.

"Cas?" Dean asked, moving his shoulder slightly to wake him. Cas didn't budge. Damn, Dean thought to himself, he was really out. Dean debated what he should do. The guy worked a hard day on a hunt and hadn't had a moments rest in a while. Dean didn't think he had slept for days. So, he couldn't just wake him up. Sam's not here to give him looks and the feeling of Cas resting on his shoulder wasn't an awful feeling.

Sam's gonna come back though...wait. Why was his only objection to this is if Sam sees him? He should be a little weirded out by his best friend sleeping on his shoulder. But, it didn't feel weird, it felt...nice.

Dean was too busy sorting out his own thoughts that he didn't notice his brother staring at him through the doorway. He didn't notice Sam at all until the tall man passed in front of the TV to come sit next to Dean. Dean felt like ice cold water had been poured down his spine and he risked a glance at his brother, who was already looking at him with a smug smile.

Dean felt the blood rush to his cheeks as he blushed noticeably.

"Awww," Sam mouthed.

"Shut. Up," Dean mouthed back, giving him an I-will-punch-you look. Sam held up his hands in defense, clearly holding back a laugh. After a few seconds of silence Sam leaned over towards Dean.

"So, is this what you guys always do when I leave?" Sam whispered in a humor-filled voice. Dean turned toward his brother with a hard glare and slowly turned back to the TV. Sam nodded and leaned back. "I'll take that as a yes."

"Look, he fell asleep on me so I let him. He hasn't slept in days, Sam," Dean hissed harshly, keeping his eyes on the tv. Sam shrugged.

"That doesn't sound like something you would do," Sam argued. "If he was really just a friend to you, you would have woken him up and told him to get off." Dean continued to stare forward, shifting his jaw in annoyance. "You know I'm right."

"Yeah, no I don't. Maybe I just want to be a nice friend. Have you ever thought about that?" Dean asked, frustration rising.

"Yeah, but I know you and you wouldn't let just anyone sleep on your shoulder. You definitely wouldn't let me! You would only let chicks and..." Sam gestured to Cas. "...him." Dean continued to stare forward, refusing to give his brother any attention. Dean had switched it back to what they were watching before Sam left and the two boys continued to watch tv. After a few minutes, a sound broke the voiceless tension.

"Dean..." Cas moaned and Dean froze in place. That wasn't a sleepy moan like he just woke up. That was a happy moan. Dean risked a glance at Cas's face and saw that his face was in a smile. Blissfulness flowed through Dean and he completely forgot about Sam being in the room. Dean continued to stare at the sleeping man on his shoulder until he heard Sam snicker, breaking him of his trance. Dean whipped his head around to see Sam smiling largely. Dean's face went bright red and he quickly shook his shoulder.

"Cas, wake up!" Dean insisted and Cas startled awake, not expecting such a rude awakening.
