RILEY had been one of those girls,

the ones who glittered in golden.

The ones who possessed the world.

All it took was one mistake,

and when she repented—

the people turned their noses.

They were cruel and never relented.

For they ridiculed and mocked,

with fingers dipped in black.

It was them who crowned her,

and with a smile she'd fallen into their trap.

The queen was naïve as they smeared their poison,

stabbed her in the back.

So they ripped her down to silver,

jealousy born in the wake.

They whooped and clapped,

their greed wanted more.

They wanted to kill her,

her name covered in blood and gore.

But jealousy had been the fuel,

though they were the match.

For with a new royalty,

they would all start from scratch.

The people were her danger,

they had been her pedestal.

For Riley fell from silver,

and into nothing.

For Riley had once been the top,

and now she no longer ruled.

We can all become Riley,

we can all be the fool.
