Here is a new chp…I know I haven’t uploaded and new chps lately I had some serious writers block.  I am trying to make it interesting but I need some advice.  Should I write out the rest of the story before I type it and post it?  All comments and any advice about the story are welcome.

Chp 7

I got to the door and opened it and Toni stood there grinning like a fool at me before she stepped in and gave me a sisterly hug. 

“Hey girl, don’t you look stunning.”  I laughed with her and phone started ringing.

I walked over to the table and looked at the screen and saw Kevin’s number pop up.  I couldn’t help but feel a small bit of guilt, not because I was doing my friend a favor and going out with her boyfriend’s friend, but because I really didn’t feel like talking and knowing Kevin, he would want to come over and how would I explain to him I was doing Toni a favor? 

I let the phone continue to ring and let it go to voicemail.  I would check it later and call him back.  I put the phone on vibrate and stuck it in my purse.

“You ready to go?”  I jumped.  I totally forgot Toni was standing in the door waiting for so I snapped out of my thoughts and picked up my purse and headed out the door behind Toni typing in the number for the alarm and locking the door.  We headed for the car and when we got there I hesitated when I saw him sitting in the backseat.  I could already tell tonight was going to be a really good night.  Toni nudged my arm grinning ear to ear.

“See I told you girl.  It’s not going to be that bad.  Ain’t he fine?  Girl if I wasn’t already with Charles I would hit that cutie up.”   I laughed at her and shook my head, “get in the car before they think something is wrong.” We opened the door and climbed in and the smile on his face was priceless.

Before Charles cranked the car, he turned to introduce him and his friend.

“Hi,” I’m Charles, and this is my friend Shaun Maxwell he just recently moved here about 6 months ago.”

I smiled, “Hi, I’m Nicole Reece, but everyone calls me Nikki, nice to meet you both.”  Shaun grabbed my hand and kissed it as he smirked at our little secret.  We all talked on the way to the restaurant and I learned a few things about Charles and Shaun had to tell me things about himself although I already knew a lot about him. 

“So Nikki,” Charles said what do you do for a living?  “I’m a RN”  “Oh ok, do you enjoy it?” “Yeah I love my job, I feel good when I can help others, and I guess it’s just in my nature.”  Toni turned around and looked at me and I questioned her.  “What?”  I am a compassionate person and I have empathy for others.  “Yeah right, girl you know them people get on your nerves.”  “Yeah sometimes they do, but it doesn’t bother me most of the time.” 

We carried on conversation on several topics, when we finally reached the restaurant.  We went to a Korean restaurant and the tables had a hibachi grill built in and the food bar was amazing.  On one side you had the meats, everything from beef, to pork, quid, shrimp, and lots of fresh vegetables.  The other side of the bar had cooked dishes, like steamed cabbage, Lo Mein.  Each one of grabbed our favorites and decided to cook everything and share. 

Shaun and I didn’t really carry on much of a conversation due to the fact that we already know each other.  Toni was engrossed in a conversation with Charles and they seem to be having a really good time. 

“Cat got your tongue?”  I asked Shaun.  He just looked at me and smiled, “no the cat does not have my tongue, I was just admiring your beauty.”
