The Bus Stop

Sophie got up and went downstairs to eat breakfast. Once she got dressed and got her backpack she told her mom and dad goodbye. She went outside to wait for Kate,who came by everyday to walk to the school bus with her.
"Hey Sophie." Kate said a little sad.
"Hi Kate. Why are you so sad?" Sophie asked a little confused.
"It's just. I don't know why you keep leaving me every day. This is the first day in a week that you've wanted to walk with me. And you're always getting off the bus early and not to mention you're lying to your mom saying that you're working on a project. And you hardly talk anymore. I'm worried about you too. I mean you could at least tell me where you're going." Kate told her a little mad.
"Oh...I didn't know that you thought I was trying to keep a secret. But if I tell you I don't think you'll believe me." Sophie said as she looked down at the ground and kicked a rock.
"Oh come on. I'm your best friend. You can tell me anything." Kate said.
"Okay but don't laugh. And you can't tell anyone about it. Okay?" Sophie asked
"Okay. I promise I'll never never never ever never ever tell anyone. I promise." Kate said with a smile on her face.
"Every day after school I've been going to the meadow." Sophie said quickly.
"Are you serious? Every day you've been at the meadow? why? What's so special about the meadow?" Kate asked.
"Well...there's this...ummm...you see..." Sophie tried to stall.
She was lucky just when she was about to spill the beans the bus showed up. "That was a close one." Sophie mumbled.
"I'll go save you and me a seat so you can tell me about the meadow" Kate told Sophie as she got onto the bus.
Sophie stood there for a moment trying to think of how she could escape. Just then some one bumped into her making her loose her train of thought. "Hey watch it!" Some one said to Sophie. She was about to say some thing but immediately closed her mouth realizing who it was. "Don't tell me what to do geek." Kyle said in a stubborn voice. "Sorry." Sophie said quickly. "You better be or I'll-" Kyle didn't finish his sentence because he saw Clair coming his way. Clair is a basic popular girl. Pretty but evil. Or at least she was to Sophie.
