It was a selfish curse.

Risa's summary: Kyra's strength is rewarded with a sword.
A sword unlike any other. One cursed by a witch, never to be used.
Now, Kyra's prepared to find out more than she's being told. True tales must come to light. Tales about the kingdom. Tales about witches.
Tales about the curse she was gifted.

This story starts with what I like to call: subtle action.
Someone is waiting for Etheren in the empty halls of the castle. I was instantly and delightfully thrown in. Who is waiting? Why are they waiting? Who is Etheren?

Since there was just one chapter, there wasn't much to dig into. However, here are a few issues I suggest should be fixed.

The story about the sword didn't add up; Etheren gifts Kyra the sword and tells a brief story about it, adding that no one knew what happened to the swordsmith. Few lines later, however, Kyra is telling a different story about the sword she supposedly knows nothing about. She talks about the witch stabbing the swordsmith in front of everyone, she also wonders how the witch got through all guards. Etheren didn't mention any of that, for all we know, an aide could have captured it, or maybe, it was won in battle.

Grammatical errors were also sparsely present, but can be easily fixed.
A quick tip: an action beat is its own sentence and should be capitalized. Action beats should also be punctuated with periods or other terminal punctuations, no commas and the likes.

I really wasn't a fan of the book's cover. And the summary did not interest me one bit.

Cursed Blade is a fresh fantasy that promises unique adventures and tales worth paying attention to. I'd recommend this to anyone who'd enjoy a fine read rich in potential, and mysterious histories.
