Author's note: I hope everyone is enjoying the story so far, I promise it gets good! Enjoy this chapter! It took me a few hour sit down session to complete it. :)

We walked in silence and hand in hand down the hallway which would lead us to Pegasus. It felt like we had been wondering down this path for hours. My mind was racing and my heart was beating rapidly as I pondered what laid ahead for Seto. I would either walk out with both of my boys or neither..Maybe this was the time to finally tell Seto, maybe it would give him another reason to duel his heart out so we could all get home safely. Seto stopped dead in his track, causing me to crash into him and snap me back into reality. As we looked in front of us, a large dueling arena stood already prepared for the duel between Seto and Pegasus.

"Hey guys! Wait up!" I turned and was faced with Yugi and the gang stopping not far behind us to catch their breath. I stared at them in a puzzling fashion. 'How did they get here so fast? And all with ten star chips?'

"I don't have time for you and your nonsense, Yugi. I have my brother to save." Kaiba stated nonchalantly and began to approach the arena.

"Seto, wait." I said as I grabbed his hand and halted him. "I want to tell you something before you to do this.."

He stared back at me in anticipation, hoping that what I had to say would be worth his while and worth me stalling him from saving his brother.

"I just.. I just wanted to say that.. I love you, Seto." I forced the words out. I had told him I loved him before but this time it took on a completely different meaning.

"I love you too, Emma. You're my best friend, thank you." he said and began to turn away again.

"No!" I grabbed his arm once again. "Seto, I mean.. I'm in love with you. From the very first time we danced, I knew I loved you. You gave me feelings that I had never felt before and that I never want to feel with anyone else. You brought light into my life when there was only darkness. I love you, Seto Kaiba, with everything that I have. "

He simply stared back at me with a puzzled look and no emotion in his eyes. Yugi and his friends stood behind me waiting in anticipation for his response. Seto looked at the ground, then back up at me, my face wore an expression of desperation for any response to be given back from him.  After what seemed like an eternity of silence, he turned away.

"I don't have time for this.." Seto said softly. My heart broke into pieces at that very moment, not getting the reaction that I had hoped for.. not getting any reaction from him at all. I couldn't even hold myself up anymore, falling to my knees that had given out on me. Tea came to my side and knelt down beside me, wrapping me in an embrace of comfort.

"Kaiba!" she shouted to him. "Be a human being! Say something to her!"

"This is the wrong time and place for this!" Seto shouted back to us. "I'm sorry.. but I have a mission to complete." He turned and walked toward the dueling arena.

"Emma.. are you okay?" Joey asked with concern.

I simply nodded at them as Tea helped me back to my feet.

"Let's go watch the duel." I stated and started walking to the balcony that hung over the arena. Tea shook her head in disbelief at me. She couldn't quite understand how after being faced with rejection and no compassion from Seto, that I still wanted to support him through this. I wish I could put it into words. When you love somebody, you take on the risk of being hurt and being rejected, but making it through those tribulations is what makes being in love so worth it.

We took our place on the balcony as Seto approached his opponent and I closed my eyes. I wish I could do this for him, take his place for him.. Seto clenched to the locket around his neck that hosted a picture of Mokuba and held it his hands with closed eyes.  'I'm here, Mokuba.'

Pegasus approached Seto with a chuckle and a smirk. "All you must do is beat me in a duel and I'll hand over your little brother unharmed, but if you fail, not only will his soul be trapped in bondage, but yours as well!"

Seto nodded in agreement. "We'll duel to your terms."

"Excellent.." Pegasus smirked. Each of the duelist took their place at the arena, both wearing looks of determination and pride.

'I know you can do this, Seto..you're dueling with a purpose. I just hope you can put your heart in your cards.' My thoughts were interrupted by Tea taking hold of my hand in a comforting way. We exchanged smiles and focused our attention to the duel below.

********************************************************

Seto fought his heart out, but it wasn't enough. I watched his look of determination fade as I saw his life points drop to zero.. It was over.. in the blink of an eye. My heart sank as I saw my best friend standing in defeat. Tears streamed from my face and from his as well. Pegasus toyed with him during the whole duel, using cartoon versions of Seto's card to mess with his mind and he also used what he called his "Millenium Eye", which he hid behind his mess of hair, to predict all of Seto's cards. He was set up for failure from the start.

"Emma, wait!" Yugi called after me. I began running down the stairs to the dueling arena and the side Seto was on. He was standing in front of me and the pods in which they dueled on lowered to ground level and disappeared as the two duelist had climbed off of them.

"Seto..I'm sorry.." I said as he approached me and I embraced him. His tears have stopped, and he stood emotionless.

Pegasus cleared his throat to gain our attention, Kaiba turned slowly toward him still hanging his head.

"You've lost much more than a duel, haven't you Kaiba? You've lost your only chance at rescuing your baby brother! You let him down.." Pegasus chuckled and pulled out a blank duel monster's card. "But don't worry, I will spare you the agony of carrying on in this world without him. This is the final fate of your soul, Seto Kaiba!"

His Millenium Eye emitted a bright light, blinding us all and causing us all to shield our eyes. As I moved my hands from my face, I began to scream.  Seto's face appeared on the once empty duel card in Pegasus' hand and his soulless body stood before me. Pegasus' laugh echoed through the room as I ran to catch Seto's lifeless body before it hit the ground. I knelt down to the ground with my best friend in my arms. I sobbed and whispered his name in hopes that he would hear me and come back.. but to no avail.

"Take him away!" Pegasus demanded of his guards.

"NO!" I screamed and raised my hand toward the guards in an attempt to stop them and as I did so, a similar bright light that had shone from Pegasus' eye emitted from my ring, blowing the guards off of their feet. I took this moment to hold my best friend's body closer to me as I continued to sob and soak his shirt with my tears. I got so caught up in the moment that I had no time to react to the other guard Pegasus had called, who proceeded to pull Seto's body out of my hands and carry him off and out of the room. I immediately stood up and turned to Pegasus.

"You're a monster.. Who do you think you are?" I sternly said to him.

He chuckled, "Oh my sweet, Emma. You're a spitting image of your mother. Her temper and all."

I stared at him with wide eyes. "How do you know my name?! How do you know my mother?"

He approached me and placed his hand on my cheek. I quickly pulled away, but he did it once more. I had no energy to fight him. He took my hand in his and eyed my ring which bared the same symbol as his eye.

"My dear, where did you get this ring?"

"My.. my dad got it for.." I stopped mid sentence and dropped to my knees and placed hands over my ears and began shaking my head in disbelief. "No..no..no!"

And.. that's it! I'll try and have the next chapter out tomorrow or Monday. :) <3
