The DownFall of Jermaine Lewis

Chapter 1 "The Athlete"

In the streets of 6 mile Detroit, nobody is safe. Including the best athlete in the state of michigan. Jermaine Lewis, very popular, best athlete in the state, going off to a college, has many scholarships lined up, a great positive community, his best friends and family. He was all around the typical popular athlete kid. Just wanting to make it big into the NBA world.

Jermaine is always with his best friend, Malcolm Johnson, Now Malcom isn't an athlete. More of your typical math nerd. But he is a good kid, but not very popular and only referred to in school as Jermaine's side-kick." Malcolm had no problem with that. He was fine with anything. Jermaine and Malcolm grew up together in the rough streets of Detroit, Michigan. They lived on a street named "Joy rd." That's how they are best friends and know each other, they were always with one another. Their mothers, Jermaine's mother being "Nia Lewis" and Malcolm's mother being "La'Shanda Johnson".

Nia and La'Shanda go way back to the 90's where they met at college. They were best friends so they wanted to do everything together like going to the mall, getting their hair and nails done, buying shoes, being at each others house, even...getting pregnant together so they could have babies at the same time. Wild? Yes, but for La'Shanda and Nia it was normal. Jermaine and Malcolm were born in 1998. Jermaine was born on September 16, 1998, Malcolm was born on December 5, 1998. Nia and La'Shanda were very excited to raise their kids together. Until one day in 2005, Malcolm only being 6 turning into 7 that year, in June, his mother La'Shanda was shot and killed, they lived on 7 mile and Hayes. It was very devastating for the whole hood of 7 mile and Hayes road, of what happened to La'Shanda. Everyone knew her as the "Candy Lady" who sold candy and other sweets out of her home. Malcolm then went on to move into Nia's and Jermaine's home.

Back to the Present day, Malcolm and Jermaine attended a Highschool named "Denby Technical & Preparatory High School" but just Denby for short. Jermaine, is now a Senior in Highschool, it's 2016. He graduates in a few months, and has plenty of lined up athletic scholarships. He isn't sure which one to pick yet. He calls his best friend who is a math nerd and say's "Yo Malcolm, Man, im tryna decide which college to pick, it's so many of these bitches I can't decide." Malcolm then says "Listen man, pick where your heart is telling you and wherever you go, I'm sure it's fine there, you know it's gon have some bad ass freak hoes." They both laugh.

Jermaine and Chelsea. Chelsea is Jermaine's girlfriend. Their relationship is really rocky, an off and on type of relationship. Malcolm doesn't really like Chelsea because she cheated on Jermaine. Malcolm want's Jermaine to leave Chelsea but Jermaine is stubborn. It's mostly his Virgo attitude & Ego. Anyway, Chelsea is your typical cheerleader & school thot. She gets around & messes with almost every other boy in the school. Jermaine thought he could fix that out of Chelsea but Chelsea's reputation for highschool was set when she was a freshman which she is now a junior, under Jermaine. While she was a freshman, she had sex with multiple seniors. To estimate, about 5 in her freshman year. Jermaine however thought it was something deeper within Chelsea and wanted to find out by getting a deeper connection with her.

Jermaine had a lot of people around him but only a few within his personal everyday circle. His mother, Nia, his best friend, Malcolm (18), Chelsea (17), Amariah (20), his favorite cousin who also grew up with him and Malcolm a.k.a "Pookie", and Johnathan, his dad who is in prison serving 5 years for fraud. They communicate everyday. Jermaine hasn't seen his father since he was 15 in 2013. Jermaine tells his father about all the scholarships, his friends and family. Basically everything that has been going on.

There is only a few months left before Jermaine has to graduate High School and pick a college to attend on an athletic scholarship. Things in the near future will take a turn for the worst and Jermaine unknowingly knows how this will affect his future.
