IT BEGINS.

"Leo, yah, wake up," Yu-Jin shook her little brother's shoulder lightly, coaxing him to wake up so she and Gwi-Nam could drop him off at his school. For some reason, the Yoon boy wanted to get there early and he had bumped into her in the kitchen making her morning coffee.

"I don't wanna. . . " The 9 year old whined, burying his face in his pillows. Yu-Jin pinched the bridge of her nose with a sigh, taking a sip of her coffee. If she were to get through this day, she would have to devour several of these.

"Neither do I, but here we are," Yu-Jin sighed, sitting beside him, patting his legs. The boy turned onto his back, looking at her groggily with a grumpy frown on his face. "C'mon, Gwi-Nam said he'll buy you marshmallows after school." He sat up properly in bed, rubbing his eyes.

Speak of the devil, the older boy peeked his head in whilst adjusting his collar. He was already dressed. White school button up on top of his black shirt with school pants. She wore a green school blazer on top of her button up, wearing her sports pants since she had practice today. Her hair was in a loose ponytail, causing strands of her slightly curled black hair to fall in front of her eyes.

"I did not say that," Gwi-Nam pointed at her and Leo, but the boy was already up and sprinting to the bathroom. Yu-Jin stood up with a smile, taking another gulp of her coffee as the Yoon boy looked at her. "Hey. I didn't--"

She smiled, patting his shoulder as she walked out of her little brother's temporary room, leaving the Yoon boy too stunned to speak. It was always like that in the mornings. Neither could really think or process things properly without a cup of coffee. Sometimes, they didn't speak to each other as they didn't have the energy to do so, but they somehow knew what the other would say.

They eventually made it out the house in one piece and they were walking Leo to school. Soon, they were sending him off, waving at him as he met up with his friends at his middle school. "He's gonna hate high school," Gwi-Nam mumbled, keeping a fake smile on his face as Leo turned back to them. They started to walk towards the high school.

"Let him enjoy middle school, and let me finish eating my coffee," Yu-Jin put her hand up, taking a few big gulps of her second cup of coffee. There was a cafe on the way to Leo's school and she had stopped there before dropping him off. Gwi-Nam shook his head at her in amusement as they neared the apartment complexes since there was a pathway where they could make it to school in no time.

As they walked in silence after Yu-Jin tossed her coffee cup into a garbage bin close by, the Kang found a girl wearing a pink cardigan in front of her, and she was all too familiar. Yu-Jin was already rolling her eyes as she picked up her walking speed, her mind coming up with a snarky comment to greet the one and only Lee Na-Yeon. She whistled and the girl turned around, annoyance already on her face upon looking at her, "God, you make every color look terrible."
