"The Balladeer.""You will be serving the Balladeer."
Signora's last words in which she had spoken to you rang through your head.
You had heard of the man — this Balladeer — that had people cowering on their knees with just his presence alone. You had heard the tales of what happened to those who dared cross paths with him.
To put it bluntly, it didn't end well for those people. The thought of this made you shiver unconsciously. You had recalled how the man was described to you in the very meeting that had just commenced; the very one in which you had made an oath to the Fatui.
'Just what had Signora meant by me being the one to tame the Balladeer?' You thought to yourself as you navigated through the sea of gowns and suits.
Remembering that you had promised to meet up with Vanessa, you headed towards the open bar across the venue.
While heading there, you couldn't help but feel as if you were being watched. Your eyes subtly darted across your surroundings and you had noticed nothing out of the ordinary. Out of paranoia, your hand grazed the side of your thigh. In perspective to the mask you wore that hid your face, the dress you were wearing hid away your electro vision and the small dagger that was strapped to your thigh. Not wanting to draw attention to yourself in the event that you truly had been being watched, you quickly retained your neutral stance. Brushing it off, you had finally made it to the bar after convincing yourself that no one could recognize you due to the mask that had sat elegantly on your face.
"Y/N! Y/N over here!" You heard Vanessa call out to you.
She was slightly slurring her words, cheeks dusted with a soft pink. She was tipsy.
"Y/N! Goodness me, you're finally here!" She said as she rose from her chair and dragged you by the wrist to wherever she had been seated prior.
Tripping over your feet slightly due to the eagerness in which she had dragged you, you came to an abrupt stop as you slightly collided into someone in front of you.
Looking up, you were met with the eyes of the man in which you had assumed you had just bumped into. His eyes were dark, a beautiful shade of purple, yet they could be seen so clearly behind his mask. They shone as if they held the sky and all it's stars in them, yet, they also felt so cold. So... lifeless.
You were brought back to reality after hearing Vanessa introduce you to the strange man.
"Oh... apologies. Nice to meet your acquaintance, I'm Y/N," you replied after realizing you were staring. You lowered your head to give the man a slight nod before returning to meet his gaze.
"Pleasure, my name is Scaramouche." He replied, a slight smirk graced his lips.
You scanned over his appearance as he seemed to be doing the same to you. You were not blind, this man was gorgeous. His skin was fair which heavily put emphasis on his contrasting navy blue hair. He was clad in traditional attire that looked like nothing you had ever seen before. In addition, he wore a mask over his eyes that was solid black with red and purple accents. But what stood out the most was the larger than life sized hat that sat atop his head.
Noticing the looks in which the man and you exchanged, Vanessa decided that it was time you had some fun even if it meant that she had to concoct a plan.
"Ahhh so... Scaramouche, was it? Care to join me and my dear Y/N for a drink?" She asked.
"Sure." He said bluntly, not tearing his eyes away from you. He gave you one last up and down glance before he turned around to sit at the table in which Vanessa had occupied.
