Tonight, our top story is something so extraordinary that it touches the lives of every man, woman, and child of every occupation, ethnicity, and orientation worldwide. We are living in history, ladies and gentlemen. We have a chance, here and now, to witness an unprecedented event that will be talked about and memorialized for decades, for centuries, to come.
"I've been asked to share a few heartening words from your government representatives. The mayor, the governor, and the president himself urge everyone to continue in their normal daily routines, including going to school and to work, as a measure of faith and trust. Faith that there are answers coming, and trust that a union of mutual understanding and appreciation can be achieved.
"Local church leaders of all faiths and denominations have unilaterally expressed their openness to any and all people wishing insight and guidance. Emergency provisions have been signed into effect by our governor, including a more visible fire safety and police presence, to accommodate the overwhelming outreach of the people toward matters of the spirit.
"Meanwhile, top researchers at various institutes and foundations are working around the clock under government supervision. Their projects are still classified as urgent, and top secret, but the president has issued assurances that all scientific avenues are being explored.
"Yesterday's news shook foundations many of us took for granted, and the way we look at the world will never be the same. But, the world is still here, and so are we. We can protect our way of life and our futures by being open-minded and willing to put our suspension of disbelief through more of a test than any work of fiction has ever presented.
"Because it is true, ladies and gentlemen. It was no hoax, no attempt at comedy, no falsified evidence. There is finally an answer to the question of 'are we alone'. It simply didn't come from the stars.
"It came from next door, and down the block. It came from the shadows and secrets that have existed around us all our lives. It came from the infinite possibilities of the world.
"Vampires are very real, ladies and gentlemen. Their existence is a fact that, at this time, has officially been deemed irrefutable by multiple, credible sources. And the sooner we accept it, the faster we can begin to answer the infinite number of questions being raised by yesterday's live announcement that spanned more than two dozen languages and every time-zone around the globe.
"This reporter is unafraid to say that we all deserve answers, and we need to be unafraid of seeking them. If we don't, tomorrow's tomorrow may no longer be ours.
