In your opinion the worst part of being with an immortal being was that. He was immortal, while you were just a mere mortal. You had to accept that one day you would be gone. He had to accept that it was a possibility that one day you would be gone.
"One day, the only thing left to remind you of my existence will be our memories and my skelotion." You said as you laid in his arms, a very common occurrence for the both of you.
"No. I refuse to believe that. One day, you'll be an immortal being too. It's happened before! Rex and Bella! Vox and Amia- err let's not talk about that one." He cringed.
"Vox and Amia?" You asked.
"Ehh, well... A couple hundred years ago or so, my youngest brother, Vox, fell in love with a dragon lady in another world. Umm to make it a long story short, they had a kid, but because he was a divine, her kind umm, kinda killed her for breaking a sacred law or something." You looked at him as if you were saying see!?
"Calm down! Unless your people have a sacred law that makes what we're doing illegal, then we're safe. Besides, Al'Terra is a world much less advanced than Earth. I doubt you'll be killed... I hope not." He smiled at you innocently.
"No Bek, I won't be killed by my own kind for being with a god. If anything I think I could be worshiped for it-" You grinned at the thought, but quickly brushed it away.
"Right. Anyways.. you know how else we can make sure you become an immortal being?" He grinned slyly.
"No?" You looked puzzled
"You can... marry me." His grin turned to a warm smile.
You just stood there with an emotionless expression for a while before it turned to one of pure joy. Soon enough your eyes were filled with tears of happiness.
"Are you- Are you asking me for real?" You asked, not wanting it to be a joke.
Bek pulled out a ring. He got on one knee like how he'd seen the humans do when they proposed.
"Yes. Will you marry me?" You could see all the hope in the world shining in his eyes.
You looked at him, the tears building up. You weren't sure how marrying a divine would be like. Especially with Rex, but it still didn't matter because nothing could get in the way of the tremendous amount of joy you were feeling.
"I- uh- I don't know what to say! I- Bek-"
"A yes would be a good place to start." Bek joked.
You shared a geeky smile with him. "Bek, yes! Of course I will!"
Bek got up and put the ring on your finger and then the two of you shared a passionate kiss. When you pulled away, it was evident that he himself was conflicted.
"What do we do?" You whispered under your breath.
"Hm?" He looked at you, the beautiful stars still not gone from his gaze.
"Rex? What about it? What do we do? What happens next-" You were interrupted by yet another kiss.
"No. Let's not worry about it. I don't know what's going to happen next, but I'm prepared to fight off anything Rex has in mind. I promise I won't let this end like Rex and Bella, or even like Vox and Amia." You cringed but appreciated the thought.
"I think we best hope we don't end up like either of them." You said, thinking back to the information you had just heard.
