Narrator's POV

1819, Brooklyn

Samara went to the same saloon she went the night she met John. When John left her on that morning all she could think about was him. She haven't felt this way about anyone for a very long time. 'He must have done something to me. When I see him again I'll have my answers' The barkeep had no information about John.

For almost a week she hoped to meet the mystery man whose only name was known to her. Few weeks passed by she went to the same saloon three more times in the past three weeks but she didn't find him.

It was time for her to move to another city. She couldn't stay at the same place for a long time. She decided to moved to New Holland for a change. Before she could plan to leave. She decided to extend her stay in America for few more days. In those last days she went to Texas.
She was having a good time there at a common saloon when someone approached her
"Didn't think to see you here love" That accent. She remembered it all too well. When she turned to her right she saw the same blonde man she met who captured most of her mind space. She was delighted to see that blonde man again. A smile formed on her lips as she replied
"I could say the same for you" The bar keeper placed two drinks in front of them. John slide the one to Samara while holding his own
"Well I must say I'm glad to see you again" he said and took a mouthful of his drink. Samara's eyes she were on him the whole time. As if she was trying to read this man
"Where were you?" She asked when she finally took a glance at the drink in front of her. John put down his drink when he finished it and gestured to the barkeep to bring another one. Then he looked at his left only to see those blue eyes. Her eyes held an intense posture, he thought he would get lost in them.
"I was thinking about you" he furrowed his brows at her when the realisation hit her. 'I can't just say that to him' She act to clear her throat
"I...-I wanted to meet you at Brooklyn but you wasn't there... which make sense now" She whisper the last part mostly to herself. He laughed softly at her
"I came to see a friend here" he replied "What about you love?"
"I came to enjoy my last days in America" She replied drinking the whole liquid in her glass in one sip.
His denomour changed
"No" he said little louder
"..Umm... you can't just leave" he replied moving closer to the girl next to him "I was hoping we could spent some time together"
Samara smiled at him before saying "You got a day"

John take Samara to the different saloons where they enjoyed their time together. Play some games, sing with the folks and drink and Samara enjoy every bit of it. At the end of the day he took her to the woods.
"Where are you taking me" She asked laughing. John was holding her hand. They were walking fast more like running slowly
"I have an inextricable connection to the nature ever since I born" He answered. "I want to show you the amazement of it"
He took her to a stream in the woods. They were on the top of it. The sky was filled with stars as the moonlight shining upon them making its reflection on the water.
"I used to come here when I was little" he said looking at the sky. Samara was watching the whole scenery in an awe. She had seen wonders of world in her long life but nature failed to amazed that.
"It's beautiful" Samara said
"It is" John replied looking at Samara but when she turned to him he shifted his gaze from her.
They stayed there for a while making small conversation.
"We should go I have to leave in the morning"
"You're serious about leaving?"
"Tell me a reason to stay"
"What about love?" He asked and Samara's denomour changed at that. "Don't you want to be with someone"
"...Uhh..." She took a deep breath as she couldn't find the right word to say
"The person I loved is long gone" She replied. John didn't say anything. He understand the subject must have brought back some uncertain emotions to her.
"We should probably move then" he said getting up from the ground and helding his hand for Samara to took it and she did.
"I have a cabin near to the woods, you can stay there" he said. Samara just nodded to him. On her way to the cabin she stumbled at the way and John picked her up, bridal style.
"What are you doing?"
"You're tired and I'm going to take care of you" he replied.
"Such a gentleman" She teased him and he laughed.
Soon after the some time John took her to the cabin he mentioned earlier. He placed her on the bed and she quickly made herself comfortable on the bed. He covered her up with the a blanket
"I'm just outside if you need me" he said turned to move out but stopped by a grip on his left wrist
"Hey John" he hummed at the response "Can you stay?" He smiled at her. Samara shifted on the bed as John laid by her side.
