"Amity Blight, we'll be heading to the invention competition in a farther land outside of Bonesborough, we should be back in an estimate of three days. So behave, study, and keep the twins from burning down the house." My mom said, a condescending tone in her voice while dad held the suitcases that contained their essentials, their abomination inventions and change of clothes.
"Yes, mom." I said, quietly as I nodded at her, trying to keep my head low. She nodded back at me as she motioned dad to follow her and he did. Once I saw that they left, I sighed and lifted my head up. Two less problems to deal with.
However, two more problems walked in, Edric and Emira, my older twin siblings. "Hey Mittens! Mom and dad are gone?" Edric asked, curiously and somewhat confusedly.
"Yeah, where are mom and dad?" Emira asked, curiously and confusedly too. I sighed as I tried to mentally prepare myself.
"They're gone, off to an invention competition." I replied, somewhat annoyed already. The twins grew mischievous smirks as they looked at me.
"So, we're all alone?" They both asked, mischievously. I nodded and they chuckled evilly. Great, they're planning some pranks, I can feel it. "So, it's us three alone for how many days?"
"Three and I already know what you're planning." They chuckled even more as they both wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
"Don't worry so much dear sister! We won't do anything TOO drastic!" They said, obviously lying, but I ignored it and just nodded. They quickly went back up to their room as I grabbed the second set of house keys from under the rug as I grabbed a book to read. Beauty and The Beast, an interesting story for me, it's very sweet too.
After I grabbed both of them, I started heading out to grab the groceries along with some new books after I closed the door behind me. I started heading to the library, trying to ignore the witches whispering about me behind my back as I kept my head somewhat low. What's so interesting about me anyways? I walk into my library job as I close the door behind me. The day went on as normal and before I knew it, it was the end of my shift. I finished cleaning up and closed the library for the day, about to read my story, until...
"Hello, Miss Blight." The Golden Guard said, annoyingly confident with his arms crossed.
Boiling Isles, not again... "Yes, Mister Golden Guard?"
"Well, I just thought that since you're off of work, we could, y'know, hang out?" He was really awkward. To others it would've been cute, but to me, it's annoying as ever.
"Like I've said many times before, I can't, I'm busy today." I tried my best to not sound like I've been ticked off.
"Doing what?! Reading?! Look, I know you're Lilith's protégé, but you still have time for other activities." He grits his teeth.
"Must I remind you that I'm also top student at Hexside? It's hard being both her protégé and the top student without studying. Though I suppose YOU wouldn't understand."
He grits his teeth and just drops some books in front of me as he stomped off. I picked one up as I looked to the cover. "Tch." I scoffed as I noticed that it was an abomination book, a book that was supposed to help your abomination magic. Is he underestimating me? Is he underestimating how powerful of a witch I am? I picked up the rest of the books as I pushed them through the turn in books slot. After I finished, I walked back home. I unlocked the door as I opened it as I closed and locked it after.
"Hey Mittens!" The twins said, oddly excited. I looked around, I couldn't see them. "Up here!" I looked up and saw that they were stuck on the roof. I was in disbelief at this.
