The day started like all others did at the Pizzaplex. Freddy was woken up, cleaned, and readied for the day ahead. Being the most popular animatronic at the plex, it was important for him to always be in shape and ready for a day of snotty children, greasy pizza, and puke. Despite the disgusting workplace, he loved kids. He loved working with them as well. They were happy and full of life, not yet exposed to the dangers and horrors of the world.
Well, most of them were.
"This party stinks." one kid pouted, crossing his arms and melting into his seat. It was the boy's 6th birthday, why was he acting like this?
"Well.. why's it boring, Superstar?" Freddy asked, kneeling down to meet the boy's eyes.
"Shut up, dumb bear."
Freddy pressed his mouthpieces together, his eyes softening as he stood up and nodded.
He knew bratty kids all too well by this point. They were mostly the birthday boys or girls that were furious at the fact that they didn't get 83 thousand-dollar gifts. It wasn't the worst he had seen from the kids. Most of them were just being spoiled because of their parents, but some of them had been neglected before. The only thing Freddy could do is try and make sure they never went through the same fate as some of them.
Like the co-owners children.
He cringed thinking about the alleged stories about Afton. He was a monster, apparently. He died before the Pizzaplex even opened; before it was even thought about.
It wasn't time to think about the co-owner. Freddy had to go get the cake and bring it to the kids for their party. He looked up at the door and walked out of the room.
He heard the happy shouts from the kids in Sundrop's daycare and the chatter of adults and children in the other party rooms. It was always loud, sometimes unbearably loud to the point where Freddy would have to go down in the utility tunnels to escape the noise or crying children and blaring music. For some reason, that never seemed to borrow the other animatronics. Not even Roxy was bothered by the loud noises, she loved loud noises, especially when she got to make them.
Freddy continued to walk to the kitchen. The walk seemed longer when he was thinking so hard. Despite the bratty kid, today wasnt difficult. There was only one person who made things difficult.
"Freddy! Glad to see ya'." Monty said, coming up behind him with a loud roar. Freddy jumped, lifting his paws in defense before realizing who it was.
"Monty! Ah, what are you doing over here? Don't you have a party to be at?" Freddy asked, looking over at the gator with a slight smile. Monty laughed.
"Hah! Nah, parents canceled the thing. Not sure why." Monty replied, leaning against the wall and crossing one leg over the other, tipping his sunglasses down, "And you? Don't you have one to be at?"
"Yes, but-"
"Agh, doesn't matter. Come on, Freddy, it's April Fools! We gotta go prank some kids!" Monty said excitedly, his tail wagging slightly. Freddy shook his head fondly, turning back towards the kitchen.
"Monty.. no. I know that look in your eye. You're going to get us both decommissioned."
"Oh come on, its harmless. I wouldn't even do it if it weren't sure it wasn't. Come on!"
Before Freddy could protest, Monty dragged him along with him, taking his hand and running towards a table.
"Get under. We're gonna trip people." Monty whispered, pushing Freddy under the table.
"I will not be tripping anyone. This is dangerous." Freddy said, shaking his head.
"We can handle it! Just sit tight and wait a sec." Monty replied, crouching down and crawling under the table as well. Freddy sighed.
"You're such a bad influence on me." Freddy groaned, "If I get in trouble because of you, I'm never speaking to you again."
"That's fine with me! Now shut up and stay still!" Monty hissed, putting a finger to Freddy's mouth.
They stayed like that for a few minutes until Freddy finally felt something move near his feet. His senses suddenly came alive as he heard giggles and footsteps heading towards from the table. Monty grinned wide and stuck his foot out from under the table. A soft yell was heard and then a child tripped, his body falling. Freddy frowned.
"Monty!" Freddy whispered angrily, hitting him in the shoulder. Monty smacked his hand against his own mouth, laughter threatening to spill at any moment. His eyes were wide and tears built up as he stifled his laughter.
"Freddy. I'm gonna fuckin' piss myself." Monty breathed, a small laugh escaping his mouth, "Oh my god."
Freddy let out an exasperated huff, knowing very well that this was Monty's plan all along. Freddy finally gave in. He tried to bite into his paw to stop himself from laughing. It really didn't work as he burst out laughing instead. The child started crying, which only made Freddy and Monty laugh harder.
Until the table cloth was lifted up and a very angry worker stared them down.
"Freddy. Monty. Back to your rooms. Now." The worker said, her brows furrowed and he jaw clenched.
...
"I think that our April Fools was well spent.""Monty, we're on room arrest for the entire week." Freddy groaned, rolling over on the floor of his room, "We can only walk around at night."
"But it was funny." Monty grinned, turning his head to him. Freddy sighed.
"I guess so." He replied, letting out a small chuckle.
"Told you." Monty whispered, "We should do this again next year."
Freddy thought for a second, staying quiet before answering.
"Fine."
