The Spring flowers were in bloom, birds singing their merry tunes as Harmony walked with a cheerful smile to her good friend Damien's home. It was almost expected that each morning she'd walk from her house to his, a decent walk, and a way she could enjoy the change of the season on her way.
Because of how often Harmony walked this way and at this time, a small handful of other townsfolk had come to recognize and even expect her to come this way, typically those who were just opening up their little shops and businesses. Some would wave, others say a short hello, and Harmony was pleased to reply with a friendly greeting in return.
Damien's house was located more towards the central part of town, close to town hall of course as well as the more common and larger business buildings. Meanwhile Harmony's home was located in the more quiet and less busy community just outside the central town, a purposeful choice of Damien's specifically when her home had been purchased. He had spent a great deal of time searching for the perfect location for her back when the subject of finding her a home was in action. Living in a quieter, less busy community was more reassurance that herself and her secret would be safer than it would be in the hustle and bustle where Damien typically lived. The area in which Harmony lived in was also closer to the park she so adored, as well as more natural scenery. All in all, Harmony was very grateful to Damien, Mark, and William for giving her a home and one so wonderful as hers.
Now standing before Damien's door, Harmony gave it a little series of knocks and waited. When several moments had passed and she did not receive an answer, Harmony tried again, but once more, she was left without a reply.
'That's peculiar. Damien said to come this morning, I'm sure. I certainly hope he's alright,' Harmony thought.
Taking the spare key Damien had entrusted to her from her pocket, Harmony let herself in just to ensure Damien was alright. Harmony searched about the first floor of the home, in the living room, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, but had yet to find the homeowner. After sweeping downstairs, she took her search upstairs, noticing the door to Damien's bedroom was ajar. Peering inside, she was relieved when she finally found him sat upon his bed and appearing fine.
"There you are. For a moment, I thought you might not have been home. Is something the matter?" Harmony asked, approaching him, only now noticing the slightly puzzled expression on his face.
Damien seemed in some sort of daze and was silent briefly before blinking a few times and glancing up at Harmony as she sat down beside him.
"No... no. My apologies. I was going to get the door, but I was... preoccupied," Damien replied, his hands awkwardly cupped a few inches just before his chest.
Harmony glanced at Damien's hands and inquired, "Why are you holding your hands like that?"
"Promise you won't... find this weird?" Damien asked, not even sounding sure of himself.
Confused but understanding, Harmony nodded and watched as Damien slowly lifted away one of his hands, the one atop his other. Harmony's confusion only tripled and was accompanied by awe as she stared with wide eyes. Within Damien's hands sat a much smaller human being. Had that been all, Harmony may not have been quite as shocked, for after first glance, the little being was undeniably an exact carbon copy of Damien himself, little black suit and all.
Damien watched Harmony's reaction with bated breath, the girl having yet to utter a single word. Harmony honestly didn't know what was appropriate to ask first in this situation, whatever this situation was, and Damien could tell.
"I don't understand it myself, but I may as well explain what I know," Damien started.
Harmony nodded, listening intently, her eyes never leaving the little being in Damien's hands.
