I don't remember much these days, I always seem to forget. But somehow, no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to forget that day I don't want to remember.

"Killua, have you taken your medicine yet?" Killua's eldest brother, Illumi, entered his room with a tray of food as if he were too sick to leave bed.

"Yes," Killua fibbed. "Just a few minutes ago."

Illumi nodded and set the tray on Killua's nightstand, sitting on the side of his bed.

"And you're feeling alright?"

"Yes, Illumi, I'm alright." The younger sighed. "I'm not that sick, you know. I should be able to leave the house."

"You know I can't risk your safety!" The older exclaimed. "I want to let you go out, you're a kid...But the last time..."

"I know. I'm sorry." Killua groaned. "But it's stuffy in here. Can I at least have the window open? I promise not to leave."

Illumi pursed his lips and averted his eyes in thought. There were many pros and cons to such a simple task as opening the window for his younger brother.

"Fine." He finally decided. "I'll open it slightly, but please stay here. You're the only family I have left."

Guilt sprouted its roots and wrapped vines around Killua's heart. Of course he was going to take the chance to breathe fresh air again, but he'd come back, for sure. He couldn't let Illumi down any more than he already had. And if, he felt, he had a choice, he'd probably stay within the suffocating walls of his home, ignoring the breeze and the vastness of the outside world. But everything outside his small world just calls to him.

"Mhm." The silver haired nodded. "I'll stay here."

Illumi patted his younger brother's knee with a comforting look before departing through Killua's bedroom door.

Killua slid from his bed and stepped his bare feet on the ground, walking on his tip toes towards the window. He leaned on the white windowsill and reached upwards for the clasp lock, which he undid with a bit of a struggle.

His hands trembled slightly, he was nervous. But nonetheless, he slid the glass pane to the right, revealing the outdoor scenery, blocked by a mere sheet of mesh. All he had to do next was—

"HI!"

"WAH!"

A boy stood outside of Killua's window. The first boy he'd seen for years now.
