(Aleah's pov)
"Billie! Could you stop stalking the girl and come down here and help me set up for dinner!" I called out to my wife upstairs.

"I'm just trying to make sure she's okay." Billie defended as she came downstairs with her phone in her hand.

I snatched the phone from my much more overprotective wife putting in my back pocket.

"Stop it. You promised you'd be nice about this."

"I am being nice! I'm just making sure she's not you know, a gold digger or anything. I don't want him to get heartbroken, he's like head over heels for this girl. Have you heard the way he talks about her?"

"Billie, we've raised him right. He knows which flags are green and which one's are red. He's a good young man."

"I know, I know." Billie sighed deeply, sitting down on the couch.
"That's what worries me."

Sensing her distress I stopped what I was doing and went to comfort her.
"What do you mean?"

"Do you ever think we raised him a little...too good? Like too soft?"

"Too soft?" I said confused.

"Yeah. I just feel like he can be easily manipulated and taken advantage of because of the fact we raised him so good. I don't want him to get hurt."

"I don't either Bil. But if he does then it's not the end of the world. It's just another life lesson he'll have in his pocket. And we'll be here for him."

I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before standing back up. "Now can you come and set the table, my love?"

"Alright, alright." She got up and grabbed the plates, silverware and napkins and started to set the table. "But if she does anything to hurt my son, I will wreak havoc."

"Deal. Kids! Come on, come on down!" I shouted.

Groans were heard from upstairs as all the kids came grumbling down the stairs.

"Why do we have to meet the girlfriend, why can't you and momma just do it?" Delilah asked.

"Because she's going to meet you guys some day if they stay together. So why not now and get it out of the way? Besides it's called manners Delilah, it's polite."

"Well I'm excited to meet her." Everly skipped joyfully into the kitchen, taking her place at the table. She was definitely the most optimistic one of the family.

"You're excited to meet everyone Ev." Elijah said as everyone took their place. Which was true. She was, Everly was definitely our social butterfly.

Billie helped set out the food as a knock on the door made everyone freeze.

"Okay, everyone be nice, sit up straight and remember your manners. Especially you Billie and you too Delilah." I pointed at the two who threw their hands up in defense in sync.

Delilah has gotten a lot of her personality from Billie and not that that's necessarily a bad thing but Billie has a tendency to be blunt. A little too blunt sometimes.

I went to go answer the door only to find my son standing there, his eyes red and fresh tears on his cheek. His face displaying nothing but sadness and heartbreak.

"Oh no."

He ran straight pass me and up to his room, the door slamming.

"What happened?" Delilah asked.

"I uhh, I think he just had his first heartbreak. Kids why don't you go ahead and start eating. Me and momma are gonna go check on Leo okay?"

I motioned Billie over and brought her upstairs to our room for a minute.
