Chapter 10

"Here, let me help you." Gerard says quietly. You open your eyes and see him leaning over you as he unties the bandages. As he pulls it loose and releases your hands, he dips down and kisses you on the forehead. "How was that, baby?" He smiles, his fangs still engaged. You've never seen his vampire teeth this clearly before now. Pure white and razor sharp points, right where his canines would be. They stand out in sharp contrast to the soft features of his face and the stark blackness of his hair.

Still trying to catch your breath, you rest your newly freed arms at your sides. "It was... great" you pant. "Thank you."

"The pleasure is all mine." Gerard smiles, retracting his fangs and laying down on the bed beside you. "Now come here, you need a bit of aftercare."

You roll over towards him and rest your head on his bare chest. He reaches an arm around you and gently rubs your back, making sure to be as tender and loving as possible to make up for the somewhat harsh treatment he previously gave you. He's so warm and soft, and surprisingly comfortable to lay on, and pretty soon you start to drift off to sleep. Gerard affectionately strokes your hair, and plants the occasional kiss on the top of your head. It seems so strange to you that this man, the one who is being so soft and gentle with you, is the same man who held you down, edged you, and made you call him 'Master'.

As you doze off, Gerard gently rolls you off of him and onto the pillow beside his, then pulls the covers over the two of you and lays his head down on his pillow. He switches off the lamp and turns the TV volume down.

"Hey," he nudges your shoulder "come over here."

"Mmmm..." you hum, half asleep, and not able to hear what he said.

"Alright I'll come to you." He shuffles over to you and pulls you towards him, wrapping an arm around you. He spoons you and strokes your hair, whispering little bits of nonsense in your ear, like about how he's gonna make you coffee tomorrow, or buy you the fancy bandages with the waterproof adhesive, and about how he's sorry for all the shitty blood loss side effects. He presses a few soft kisses on your neck as you drift off to sleep.
