The moment Yoon Seri decided to dedicate more than a decade of her life buried neck deep in books to become a medical doctor was also the moment she knew she had to say goodbye to the things she loved most, say goodbye to her youth, to hanging out with her friends, to unplanned and impulsive trips to places she has never heard of before.

Just say goodbye to life, basically.

She prepared herself for this, both mentally and physically- well, as far as google diving the "Pros and Cons of Being a Doctor in Korea" can ever prepare her. Needless to say, she was ready to leave the fun and thrilling life she once had for a harsher and more unforgiving one. But for some reason, despite the all nighter she pulls 7 days a week, at least 3 cups of coffee a day, a clinically diagnosed herniated disk, and above normal levels of cortisol, the world, or whoever being, for whatever criteria, has decided that she is the perfect candidate to handle a worldwide top star, a phenomenon, an award winning performer, and the "nation's it boy".

And so, without any warning of some sort, Ji Changmin was thrown into the life of Yoon Seri.

"oh my god, I am never gonna let anyone assign me in the ER, ever again." Kevin sighed as he slammed himself in the reception desk.

"unfortunately, Doctor Moon, you cannot do that," Jacob chuckled arriving not much later than Kevin, looking a lot more well rested and composed, a patient's file in hand . "unless you have a million dollars."

"well there must be something else I can do!" Kevin exclaimed. " I seriously don't want to face another patient who came in here just because they were too childish, idiotic, and drunk to comprehend that recreating the most famous album cover of the beetles in a busy, accident prone, high way, that doesn't even have any pedestrian lanes by the way, is just borderline psychopathic!"

"Kevin," I said.

"What now," he groaned. "you're gonna tell me that one more patient is currently being wheeled in-"

"- one more patient is currently being whee-"

"goddamn it!" he exclaimed before fast walking his way to the patient, who seemed to have broken something.

Jacob and I chuckled to our over caffeinated, sleep deprived friend.

"You know if you had held up four fingers in front of him and asked how many, I'm pretty certain he would have answered four toes." He said.

"Oh yeah, totally." We both laughed.

To be honest, I had attended to more patients than he did today, but the difference between us is that I did not spend my off-day yesterday awake till the crack ass of dawn watching the live broadcast of an international soccer game.

"oh, by the way, this-" Jacob handed me the file he was holding "- is for you."

I opened the folder and found it to be an information and the scheduled date of an operation for a surgery. Apparently I will be assisting, oh yay, new year's eve. Apparently our hospital does not know what a holiday is.

Well if they did, we may have finished the turkey on the table, watched every fireworks displayed, and drank every booze on the fridge, while the patient lies in bed praying to whoever god's they believe that may the competent Doctor's of Seoul Hospital sober enough on time before they die from neglect, so I guess it's better for all hospital to not know what a holiday is.

"Also, if your workaholic ass haven't noticed," Jacob pointed to the clock situated on the wall behind me. " it is already past 3 a.m. in the morning, which means your shift ended minutes ago, and you can now go home and shout 'honey I'm home' to your non-existent lover."
