The day I got my ability to communicate with ghosts was the worst and best day of my life. It was the day I saw the most horrifying things and the most beautiful. I do not understand why I have been chosen to live this life, but I believe it is for a reason.
It started as a normal day for me. I was only 9 years old.
"Mommy? Why is there a man behind you?" I asked. The tall figure walked over to me and touched my forehead. He whispered something in a language I could not understand and dissappeared. Suddenly, a middle aged man in a strange suit started sipping coffee on our couch. I was only 9 years old, too young to understand what was happening.
My mother took me to a priest, to try and make me normal again. It was painful, and it didn't work, but I pretended it did.
I decided that I would have to learn to live with it. I started conversing with ghosts, and they started befriending me. They walked around and lived their lives like normal people, but they look transparent and grey. Some of them even decided that they would let go of the Earth and ascend into the heavens.
I kept this a secret from everyone. It is a burden.
