I was in complete awe of what surrounded me, the cliff we were on seemed like it was copy and pasted from a painting with green verdant grass and small blooming yellow flowers. I looked out beyond the cliffside and saw the grand expanse of ocean and islands that surrounded us in the distance. One of the islands seemed to be completely made of white metal that shined in the sun...as I looked up, I saw a mass expanse of the cosmos spread out against the sky like we were in a snow globe of some sort. The body of water surrounding these islands seemed unnatural in how it had no waves yet moved against the islands like a normal beach. The gravity of this place looked and felt unstable in how I could have a normal weight if I stretched out my arm in front of me and if put it too my side it would start to float like it was in space. The air here felt forced in a way, like I was breathing just fine but every time I breathed it felt like I was just reusing the same air which I knew was impossible because I would feel its affects by now but despite that I could not help but feel like that.
"I'm going to pretend that's supposed to mean something to me."
"Don't be so crass, this place is actually quite beautiful despite the gods that it came from."
"Still have no idea what that is supposed to mean to me. Can I ask questions now?"
"We are almost there I promise, the only thing we need to do from here is jump off this cliff into the water below."
I stood there dumbfounded. "What?"
"Yeah, just jumping off this cliff will get us to where we need to go to be away from prying eyes."
"I don't see anyone here."
"The idea of an eavesdropper is not to be detected."
"Fair enough. But wait we need to jump off this cliff that is...." I step towards the edge and look down, seeing almost nothing but a black pit shimmering slightly in the reflection of the bright atmosphere of the cosmos above us.
"I don't know Aella, I think I'll pa-"
Before I could react she grabbed my hand seeing that I trying to back out and practically dragged me off the cliff with her down into the abyss.
"We will be fine I promise!" She yelled at me while falling.
"I don't have any reason to doubt that but Aella?"
"Yeah?"
"What is that?"
Aella looked down with me and saw a glowing mass beneath us, writhing and churning as if it was waiting for us to jump.
"That shouldn't be here."
"What do you mean that should not be here, we should not be here!"
"Okay I have an idea?"
"For what?"
"What do you think? Just hold onto me, and whatever you do, do not let go."
I seeing little reason to argue aggressively hugged Aella desperately hoping she could save me yet again due to me being so powerless and ignorant of what the hell was going on. I made a silent promise to myself that if I live through this, I will find a way to repay her for all this bother she is putting herself through to keep me alive and safe from whatever is after this book and me apparently. I, after making my promise, stared into the abyss, and it stared back.
